OVERVIEW

The landscape of Nordland is one of prairies, rolling hills and plains all surrounded by mountains, except to the far northwest where the touch of the ocean resides. The northern beachfront of this ocean is where you'll be helping to take control of the zone through the various battlefield objectives.

You start out in the lower left of the zone, snug in the depths of the mountain ranges, safe from most of the immediate predators that grow proportionality more dangerous the farther out you explore. Harvester's Road is your guide north away from the staring area called Grimmenhagen.

The lower right resides Salzenmund and its associated keep. There isn't much to explore in this area at the time for Order, so only bother going to the south lake if you are looking for creatures to kill or quests to obtain. To advance to the next area, travel on Harvester's Road Northeast which will lead you to Norsca.

You'll be able to advance through the starting zone fairly quickly, just stay away from the Southeast at least until level 7 or 8. Your most efficient route of leveling will be in a clockwise direction, keeping clear of the north beachhead if you wish to avoid RvR combat. Most of your leveling will be in the central and eastern areas.

BATTLEFIELD OBJECTIVES

Battlefield Objectives: 4 total, concentrated in the northern beachhead. You will want to participate in the BOs in the following order:

The Nordland XI (BO - Order, Empire, Warcamp)

The forces of Chaos are descending on New Emskrank by land and sea. The Nordland XI, pride of the Empire's northern fleet, is the key to the town's defense. Its powerful guns have kept many of the Norse longships at bay, and its deep supply holds mean relief for a starving town. However, the ship remains vulnerable when unloading its cargo and the town's meager defense are no guarantee of safety. The loss of the Nordland XI would herald the loss of the Empire's border, for the ship's dominance of the northern waters is the only force restraining a flood of Northmen from overwhelming the Nordland defense.

Harvest Shrine (BO - Order, Empire, Warcamp)

The Harvest Shrine is frequented by farmers who wish to acquire blessings for their crops. Due to the harsh climate and hard soil of the region, Nordland has a very delicate agricultural industry, and its farmers are more superstitious than those of other lands. The loss of this shrine to the Raven Host would leave little hope for survival for the peasants of Nordland, and they might easily flee south to lands able to guarantee a full stomach.

Festenplatz (BO - Order, Empire, Warcamp)

The Harvest Shrine is frequented by farmers who wish to acquire blessings for their crops. Due to the harsh climate and hard soil of the region, Nordland has a very delicate agricultural industry, and its farmers are more superstitious than those of other lands. Lost Lagoon (BO - Order, Empire, Warcamp)

As the Empire is attacked by Chaos forces in Nordland, an Empire counter-strike has been launched upon the seaports of Norsca in an attempt to stem the flow of Norse Dragonships to the front lines. At the center of the battle is the Lost Lagoon, a landing from which either side can lay in wait to ambush ships that would sail toward the coast.
