- Obtained at level 10.
- Provides a chance for the character to cancel the enemies attack and instantly counterattack with the main-hand weapon.
- Counter is only active with weapons drawn.
- Only attacks launched from in front of the character can be countered.
- Attacks from all enemies can be countered, not just the character's current target.
- Attacks can not be countered if the character is asleep, stunned, terrorized, or petrified.
- Counterattacks can hit critically, though the combat log will not show such hits at criticals.
- Additional effects that fire on melee hits, such as Enfire or Double Attack, can not fire on counters.
- Ranged attacks cannot be countered.
- TP Attacks and spells cannot be countered.
- Counterattacks cannot themselves be countered.
