Rumors and speculation have been going on for the last month about whether there would be another FFXI Fan Festival held this year.

According to the Final Fantasy XI Fan Festival website , Square Enix will be holding a fan festival in 2008! The event will be held in Hollywood, California on December 5-6! Details are minimal at this time, but surely more are to follow soon!

Jeeez.. it's good thing I was there when registration started. I would have hated it to wait that long. Go to buy my tickets a day later after it started and find they are already sold out @_@ Wow..I wonder if they had fewer tickets..or it just sold out like that

I have impatiently been waiting for the details to be announced. I (wilmakitty this is my son's alla account) have been waiting on pins and needles for them to tell us where and more detail. My ingame husband Vipreubaud and I have been planning to finally meet in person at this years FanFest! TELL US DETAILS ALREADY

Uh ._. Okay it's been two weeks. You'd think they'd let us in like where exactly it will be. Maybe today perhaps? I'd like to get a hotel near it since I don't have a car. T_T Since the one they usually offer is pretty pricy.

I wish they would push this back, or forward, why can't we have it in November again? Is it because of Japan's Vana fest? LAME!!

Gosh I'm excited. I've been saving up for this new one ^_^ Whee. Last time I went with a weak camera and the flash wasn't enough light and they got ruined.i was determined to make sure i got a digital camera this time. But it got stolen along with my latop and other stuff when I was working while I was away from home x_x Irony that the same day they announced the festival.

TIME TO SAVE MORE MONEY :O Nothings gonna stop me now!

Hope hotel prices are ridiculous this early in the game.

What if it is only two days long, both previous years it was 1 day for registration and two days for activites, and the price for three days food and activites provided was 80? I cannot remember but I hope we get more than just 1 day activites... the activites themselves are worth it.

I have been both years! I don't remember how old you have to be to attend. I can tell you most minors were accompanied by adults. Course once you get your badge you need not much else to get in.

If you go by SE's previous expansion patterns, they announce their new expansion approximately a year after their previous expansion came out. Then they release it six months after that. We're approaching a year after WotG now, and I think it's likely that they'll announce an upcoming expansion soon, probably at the Tokyo Game Show in mid-October (where they've announced expansions before). They also apparently have a trailer scheduled to be shown there. If they follow this pattern, they'll have plenty to talk about at this upcoming Fan Festival...

I cannot believe it is time for fanfest already. Where did the year go? I cannot wait for the information released at the fanfest.

I am now hopping with curiosity about what SE can come out with to trump WoTG announcement at last fanfest.
