From comparing stats (somepage's listings) Id say this is the best thing to use all the way outta kazham.

mutton has 2% attack more than this but has 1 less str, no hp bonus, no agi bonus and caps lower.

1-10 you could stilll use rabbit stuff but the other stat boost make a usable choice.

Ranged Attack =/= Ranged Accuracy
GP limit
# Jun 11 2005 at 7:56 AM Rating: Good
Dhalmel pies as a GP item:
Dhalmel Pie GP: 120
Dhalmel Pie+1 GP: 160

GP points limit: 3120

3120/120 = 26
And because you get 4 pies per synth:
26/4 = 6.5

So 7 synths(assuming no HQ's and no breaks) will get you maxed out. Good luck.

I was reading something on another thread that these pies can be bought by a NPC in Sandy. Was wondering if someone can confirm this.

These were available in the Timbre Timbers in Windurst Waters to my zero fame Windurst mule for 865 each with Windurst in first place in conquest. They are NOT available to non-Windurst players.

Also, note that at zero fame, these would cost 10,380 a stack. Given the going rate on Fairy of 10k per stack, and the fact that I am one of only three or so cooks who make them with any regularity, you rangers out there might want to consider stocking up on those rare occasions that Windurst actually makes it into first place. ~.^

Also, for you cooks eyeing this to skill up, it is generally worth the trouble. You *should* be able to make a fair amount of profit to justify the coral fungus, it's a stackable synth, and I'd recommend you use these to get as close to 75 as possible before resorting to Navarin for 77.

On Fairy, I've never had a stack wait more than an hour on the Jeuno AH before it was gone. If you're lucky enough to be on a server where someone actually holds conquest over Movalpolos, buy the coral fungus from regional vendor for ~800ish per. ^_^

Why do Navarin to 77 when you can do Orange Kuchen all the way to 80? Kuchen is an inventory hog but they sell quick enough and you make profit.

Quote:
Why do Navarin to 77 when you can do Orange Kuchen all the way to 80?

Three reasons:

1) The stats...

Orange Kuchen
MP +13% (Cap: 75@576 Base MP)

Navarin
HP +3%
Strength +3
Vitality +1
Agility +1
Intelligence -1
Evasion +5
Attack +27% (Cap: 30@111 Base Attack)
Ranged Attack +27% (Cap: 30@111 Base Ranged Attack)

The Navarin are more useful to melee than orange kuchen are to mages. WHMs often want the -Enmity of mushroom dishes. BLMs and RDMs want the INT of pies. Many SMNs seem to prefer Icecap Rolanberries, available from NPC and giving MP +19% (Cap: 55@289 Base MP), Intelligence +2 and Resist vs. Wind +5. Then they seem to move on to Marron Glace [MP +13% (Cap: 85@653 Base MP), MP Regeneration While Healing +1]. Orange kuchen can't live up to the 19% of rolanberries or the HMP+1 of glaces.

There are 4 classes of mage jobs to use kuchen. MNK, RNG, THF, NIN, DRK, SAM, DRG and non-tanking WAR (8 potential customer classes) could get use out of Navarin.

Bottom line, there are more potential customers for Navarin.

2) Orange kuchen are available cheap from NPC under certain circumstances. Navarin are not. Therefore, the salability is increased again.

3) Ingredients. All Navarin ingredients are stackable. Orange kuchen requires the non-stacking San d'Orian flour. I hate San d'Oria flour.

Though, strictly speaking, I left Navarin around 75.x and went to Shallops Tropicale for a healthy profit to 77, then Pamama Au Lait to 81.

I used this on my 43 Ranger (been using it since 35) and the stats I got from it was:

Str +4
Vit +1
Agi +2
Int -2
Mnd +1

Attack +26%
RngAtt +30%

My attack was at 155 bumbed up to 196.
Rng dmg on IT gobs bumped from 80-90dmg to 100-110 an arrow.

This is an awesome food when doing BCNM40's^^.
