Seems some stuff has change because updates, at this date I got this info:

Bretzel = 6 GP
Salt Bretzel = 9 GP

cap for this item was 2320

I had to do those so, I dont know prices with NPCs

NQ = 387 bretzels, like 3 stacks and 90 singles
12 crafts of 33 to complete request

HQ = 258 salt bretzel, like 2 stacks and 60
singles, 8 crafts of 33 to complete request

Hope this help for you this time.

You need 14 synths to max out the GP for the day.

On Bismarck, it's way cheaper to make them yourself.

Fire Crystal: 300 x 14 = 4200 (In San D'oria crystals are 3500/stack)
Bird Egg: 50 x 14 = 700 (Airship vendor)
Distilled Water: 10 X 14 = 140 (Any tavern)
Selbina Butter 100 x 14 = 1400 (Auction House)
San D'orian Flour = 60 x 14 = 840 (Rambroy's Grocery, or the Zulkeim regional vendor if he's not selling any)
Rock Salt = 15 x 14 = 210 (Rambroy's Grocery)

Total = Roughly 7500 gil.

Even with the dirt cheap cost of Bretzel's (21 -24 gil each or 2079 - 2376/stack), you still save about 2-4k making them yourself, just a head's up. ^.^

I dunno about you guys, but I'm a pennypincher when it comes to GP, I like to save as much as I can.

You get roughly 500 GP for a stack of these, so you need ~5 stacks. With maxxed fame in Bastok they cost 21 gil/ea, so a stack is ~3k from the tavern in Port Bastok.

With a stack of fire crystals going for 8k on it's easier to take the airship and buy them than cook them yourself for GP.

I actually ended up looking this up because I saw it in another thread. I have found out that it has the following effects:

Duration: 3 minutes
MP up 8% up to 55mp
vit +2

The HQ of this is Salty Bretzel

Duration: 5 min
MP up 8% up to 60mp
vit +2

From what I hear nobody buys these and it is likely because they have no idea what it does. My suggestion would be to bazaar them and put the stats in your bazaar comments.

Do these have any real purpose? Apart from cooking skillups?

I can potentially see them being somewhat useful for a high-level RDM convert, if eaten just before - but even that I'm not sure of the plausibility of. Any other ideas?

Bretzel is German for "pretzel". Crazy SE with their German-obsession.

Many NPC vendors' selection will depend entirely on Conquest rank for the nation the NPC is in.

Regional vendors likewise will only sell product if the nation you are in is in control of the region you need to buy supplies from... and nobody sells certain items from any given region on weeks when the beastmen control it.
skill up
# Jan 12 2005 at 12:30 PM Rating: Decent
What a crock. I did an entire stack of these while at 51 (using the Bird Eggs mind you) and got 0.1 on an entire stack of ingredients. I almost through my controller through my TV. Then I did a stack of Beaugreen AND Batagreen Sautee (both 55) and got 0.1 skillup on that. Am I missing something here?

a) craft skillups slow WAAAAAY down after 50 in general.
b) skillups slow down ALOT during the last 2 levels below a cap

Does this give an mp+? While on my whm my mp went from somewhere around 680 to 714 after I ate this. To test it I went on a mule (THF/WAR) and ate one, and got no mp added (He had no mp to begin with). So I changed the mule's job to BLM/WHM and the mp went from 18 to 20, so I think it has a +MP% affect.

HQ is 99 bretzels (maybe 66 also, but all the HQ i got were 99)
