The moral of the story is.. he can spawn pretty much anywhere. But he does usually path toward Craig Hill regardless of which spawn point he came from.

This 47th season Mage has been farming "Rogue Lions" for several days and nights and NEVER once have I Seen TARBUL EARTHSTRIDER pop.
I think there are too many BS stories here about this what apppears to be AN EXTREMELY RARE SPAWN as rare as QUILLMANE himself in S.Karana. Would like to hear some factual and current news if any on this mob.

This is the Place holder for Earthstrider, a has a set spawn point and time. and has a High prob on the HQ lion skin

Two of these spawned back to back while I was gathering silks in EK last night. Tarbul Earthstrider was not up at the time. I tracked the first one and by the time I got to it, it was already engaged with Squire Whimbley near the crossroads. I got in the finishing nuke ("You have slain a rogue lion!") but of course, there was no corpse to loot. The 2nd one spawned immediately after the first one died (about 30 seconds afterward), and I found it standing on the hilltop where Tarbul normally wanders around. I rooted / snared / dotted it, and it fell after about 500 HP's of damage. I looted 2 cat pelts: 1 ruined and 1 HQ.
Here's the interesting part: within 60 seconds of the 2nd rogue lion's death, Earthstider popped - very near me (but just out of agro range, thankfully), on the plain (where I was med-kiting a crag spider). I back away and watched him walk straight to his normal stomping ground, atop the hill where I killed the second lion.

Tarbul is said to be its PH, and it seems as though Tarbul is always up. I got all the spider silk for my cured silk phase of tailor skill, plus HQ cat pelts to 111 so far, in EK without ever seeing a rogue lion, and without ever seeing crag hill devoid of Tarbul. I figure the rogue lion must be for something truly grand, because you must have to kill dozens of Tarbuls to get one. Maybe I just saw a rare run of all Tarbuls, or, since the servers only went down a couple times during the course of my tailor farming and I've only killed Tarbul once, maybe I saw a run of three Tarbuls and he never despawns once he's up. Or maybe the rogue lion is the common spawn but runs straight to the gnoll camp and dies until a Tarbul spawns.

Tarbul can't be it's placeholder since I had both Tarbul and a rogue lion on tracking at the same time a couple of nights ago.
I saw and slew two of them within about two hours of eachother one night. I was hunting lions workin on my tailorin skill. My pet chewed both of them up, one dropped a ruined cat pelt and the other dropped squat.

Saw this briefly on tracking but lost the target before I could find it. Had greens filtered off and since my ranger is 19 that would mean these can probably be as high as 14.

It took three 174 pt DD's to kill one, which is a decent amount of hit points for a level 12 lion. I tried charming it first just to see if it would respond to a hail or anything, no change. Dropped a HQ pelt and lion meat.

Came upon this new lion (thinking it's quest related) Killed 2 of them first dropped nothing second just HQ cat skin and chunk of meat. Blue to me at 15 fought like a lion patriarch.
