Easy kill
# Apr 18 2003 at 7:02 AM Rating: Decent
Killed this guy for his skin thats for a sk dreadscale quest... I camped him with my druid and its good xp and since I killed him about 70 times I got about 110pp cause he drops 1-5pp per kill or maybe even less...my druid went from 35 to Half way in 36...this guy is easy...anyway I killed him like this

1. Pulled him with snare to a safe spot
2. Rooted him
3. Casted Drone and Imolrate
4. Ran bak to med till his health was 50%
5. Rooted again and casted Drones and Imolrate
6. ran back and med again
7. When his hp went to 20% I nuked him with Fury

good luck

How to get there
# Feb 28 2003 at 12:08 PM Rating: Decent
Often times the boat is messed up so this is how I get to Gorla island. First I go to the far left hand dock at Kaladam. I hail the translocator and she or he ports me to the dock on Elf island. From there head to shore through the stone arch and turn right. Follow the edge of the water around the island until you see a bird like stone carving. From there use sense heading or drop your weapon to locate due south.
Swim due South from this point. Depending on your swimming ability it will take a number of minutes and make you uneasy the first few time. Levitate makes this an easy trip. I havent tracked any monsters in my general area during the swim. I advise changing your perspective by pressing F9 three times. It is hard climb onto the island
Swim along the edge to the right and you will find a ramp. Good hunting
binding

As of feb 2003 you can bind in TD again, that makes this camp even better
cant quad them
# Feb 01 2002 at 7:14 AM Rating: Default
if your a dr00d licking your chomps just know these are hard to quad kite them and the normal golras. i guess Verant thought a head of time and made it so they run diffent speed even when snared so one or two of them we be ahead of the others. the speed is so much different that they will be to far apart by the time you get a spell off. cant quad hulkings anyway cuz there is only 3. cool island same spawn spots and no roamers. keep killing hulkings and evey 2 hours halara will spawn, sometime more that one. (even though her drops are crap now days cape use to be nice ).

To the best of my knowledge these will aggro on everyone . I have been to the iceburg all of my char's and the golras , hulking golras and holara were KOS to them. Although they are KOS it is a VERY safe place to hunt as they do not wander.

SPAWN TIME?
# Jul 07 2001 at 8:36 PM Rating: Default
Has anyone checked the spawn time on these?
RE: SPAWN TIME?
# Jul 25 2001 at 2:01 PM Rating: Good
The spawn time is about 8-10 minutes... a little slower than the Oowomp spawn time of 6 minutes but you don't have to worry about Scourage Dot landing on you (or any other spell for that matter). At lvl 45 I can solo 2 Hulking Golras right after another then heal and med to full, by then the first one is just spawning.

Golra skins?
# Jun 23 2001 at 9:26 PM Rating: Decent
I was camping here for the crushed diamonds (before everyone gets greedy, they are worthless, just used in the quest for the Shaman's Cannibalize II spell) and killed a Hulking Golra and it dropped a skin! Looked like a white pelt, named "Golra Skin", Magic, Lore, No Drop.

If anyone else becomes curious, it seems this skin is used in the Iksar Shadowknight quest for Dreadscale Vambraces in Cabilis East.

the tizmaks in great divide sound alot better i got out of 35 in 9 hours their i am quading snow cougars in iceclad at 37 now getting a blue bub a kite then of to wolfs in the same zone
Not too hard
# Dec 29 2000 at 2:45 PM Rating: Default
I realy want to thank my friend Syyria for showing me this place. Wowy these guys are Good exp! In Hell 35 I would gain 1/4 the of a blue bubble each kill. That means only 100 kills and I would compleat the hell level instead of 200. I ensnare pull to water edge drones immolate then run and med. when close I would Fury of the Sky the Gorla and run back past him while he was stun. It took 2 droons (350 damage) 1 immolate (250) 4 Fury (250) then some melee to finnish so expect them to have over 2k hp. My wis is 190 so I had 2 bubbles of mana left when done.

Best damn xp Ive seen
# Dec 26 2000 at 3:03 PM Rating: Decent
Here I am, Christmas time, needing a place to hunt with so much free time. Well my friend directs me to this island. I know druids can do well here, and I know that my mage did very well here also. I dont know about necs tho, fearing here can be deadly. These things are not to be messed in anything besides the most controlled circumstances. There is room to move around on the edge if you are careful and pull them systematically. But I digress... started out as a lvl 31 trying to get out of hell... this was on Saturday.. By the end of Monday, I am one half xp bub from hittin 35.. Im telling you this place is incredible. To save mana and maximize on the kills and xp, my mage friend and I, also a mage tag teamed these things. Combined pet dmg plus 1 nuke a piece had these things down in about 15 seconds. A quick and easy kill, and the best damn xp I have seen since hunting crag spiders at 20. Good luck, and be careful. Bring a book or some tailoring to work on.. its a BORING camp and no one talks a lot in that zone... but hey we all gotta make sacrifices, right?

a Loc to island
# Dec 16 2000 at 7:08 PM Rating: Default
WAs wonderin if some kind soul could put up a loc to the isle the gorla are on please.
RE: a Loc to island
# Dec 19 2000 at 8:57 PM Rating: Default
the loc of the island is -9000, -5000 in timorous deep. you will need to jump off the boat to get there.
What not worth it?
# Dec 05 2000 at 5:07 PM Rating: Default
for someone to say it is not worth coming here is stupid. They must have never been here. The exp is great. I went there at lvl 26 ranger. The Gorlas on the island are great exp at that lvl a little tough without healer but you can kill them. Just remember this if you do kite them kite them in close and by the water so they do not aggro anymore than the 1. Good luck. Oh and by the way I made 10 lvl's in 1 month there.

I just got there and the place seems safe enough if u are patient. Im getting ok xp in my hell 35 lvl and the loot isnt half bad, plus there is the drops that are on it..didnt get anything yet but i will soon....yes be hesitant when finding the ramp up but if it helps its on the east side of the island..it does get lonely out there but who says thats a bad thing.
Do be careful!
# Oct 12 2000 at 4:23 PM Rating: Default
I went to explore the place after reading these posts. I was just walking around the edge of the isle and one literally jumped down on me. I got hit three times for 61, then stunned...
moments later,
LOADING,PLEASE WAIT

Argh!
I suggest being very attentive if you even consider going there.
Not worth the effort
# Oct 11 2000 at 8:34 PM Rating: Default
I wouldnt bother with the hassle of getting to these things, you can go to FM and get better loot/xp.

Probably depends on the class. For a 30-34 necro this is a pretty good spot: easy single-pulls and safe fear-kiting means easy XP at a good rate, and they drop a fair amount of plat and some words. That said, at 33 I still stick to the normal golras: I can kill the yellow-con hulking golras but the XP isn't worth the extra mana usage over the dark blue normal golras.

Plus I've almost maxed swimming now after 2 trips to the ice-berg :).

34 DRUID...This place doesnt offer much more than XP but I have noticed it is fast and loot is not that bad, as good as Split Paw for you HI-20' to Mid 30's..What I like most is no crowds which means no KS'ing you can solo here as a caster not sure about melee classes w/o heals, but I gain almost a lvl a nite pretty ez. I head to south side of isle where there is 1 igloo 2 spawns here. I start w/ the closest first toss Droons on him, and pull to waters edge, ensnare, and Imolate, then sit and med. when Droons wear off I put 1 more on em and watch him die. Sometimes I will porcupine em when Im bored, but I never kite em , there is no where to run here so if you draw a crowd forget it you are toast.Happy Hunting Say Hi to Me if you are on my server Erollisi Marr (Devarwin Issm)..BTW yes they do hit hard !!!
aggro and Halara
# Jul 16 2000 at 3:28 PM Rating: Good
They aggro if you run near them, but even if 2 are close together you can pull a single without the other coming with it, as long as YOU stay out of the aggro radius. Really the only place you have to be wary when pulling is near the little igloo community on the south side of the island.
It's also interesting to note that while killing hulkings today there were actually 2 Halara's spawned at once. Both con'd red to me at 35 so I didn't mess with them.
Wrong.
# Jul 07 2000 at 6:24 PM Rating: Decent
No, they aggro, and if you kite them you have to be very careful.
Hmmm
# Jun 22 2000 at 1:02 AM Rating: Decent
what's the deal with these? A friend of mine said that they don't help each other and are easy to kite. Is he right?
