Wikihelp | Item pages are built using the CoS Item template and the naming format is Item_name (CoS Item) |
---|
Which classes can use an item is identified by a row of four icons to the right of the name.
Under the new CoS: Arkadia, you will receive a green box full of gear every 5 levels, alternating between Weapons & Accessories and Armor & Shield, rather than receiving them from quests. because of this total gear replacement every 10 levels, it is strongly advised that you upgrade only your weapons and save the rest of your metal for when you get to level cap.
All items in City of Steam have a color that indicates Quality. This color is seen in the Name of the item and in the border and background of the icon.
Quality | Color |
---|---|
Rusty | Grey |
Common | "White" |
Fine | Green |
Superior | Blue |
Extraordinary | Purple |
Magnificient | Orange |
Armor can have a rank prefix, Exalted. This indicates the item is 5 levels higher than the base item. So while Scout Cuirass is level 5, an Exalted Scout Cuirass is level 10. Armor Sets are documented here only under the Base Name. The stats for the Non-Exalted and Exalted versions will appear on the same page as will the stats for the different available qualities.
All armor of the same slot will have the same Primary and Secondary stats. Primary for all weapons is Damage but the Secondary Stat may be any of a group of stats.
Weapon and Shield stats (and Mod Stats) only apply for the items you are currently wielding. If you are dual wielding then the stats for your shield and 2-Hander are not applied.

Up to 3 Rare Properties may be randomly added to any equipment that is both level-30+ and of blue, purple or orange quality through Revamping. These properties come in green, blue, purple and orange ranks. Each property can be locked before Revamping again but this increases the cost.
Each class has a weapon or two that can fire in multi-round bursts per attack. These weapons do NOT do their full stated damage per shot. A 3-round-burst repeating rifle will do one-third of its damage with each round. So what is the advantage? Each of the three rounds has it's own separate chance to Crit and to proc any extra damage. The extra damage will still be one-third of what it would have been with a single successful attack, but against a foe with high resistance this may come out better.
Equipable items in City of Steam can be improved in several different ways (see Crafting).
