Carbine Studios Debuts WildStar Loremageddon
The lorepocalypse is upon us as the Aurin and the Mechari lead the charge.
Carbine Studios is dropping some heavy duty lore bombs this week as it kicks off its WildStar Loremageddon initiative. The galaxy is full of mystery, so get those notepads ready for the continual lore drops involving planet Nexus and beyond!
After introducing the Loremageddon initiative last month, the WildStar team received over 500 lore-related questions that will be complied and answered periodically through additional in-depth lore pages added to the game's main website. Information regarding the history and the lore of the Mechari and the Aurin is currently available with more pages on the way, including pages filled with answers in response to specific questions from the community.
WildStar's Creative Director, Chad Moore, chimed in on the positive response from the community as the Loremageddon initiative continues to push forward.
"Here at Carbine, Loremageddon started to take on a life of its own. Inspired by the obvious passion of the community, there were many teams here that wanted to step in and do their part. Obviously, the Narrative Design department jumped headfirst into the fray, reading through the hundreds of questions and trying to figure out how to answer as many of them as possible. But it didn't stop there. Other teams got pumped up about the project, and started figuring out the best ways to present the hard-hitting lore that was coming out of Narrative Design at light speed. Battles were fought. Legends were made. Coffee was imbibed by the gallon.
Now that the dust has cleared, we are ready to show you what has been born of this unforgettable lorepocalyspe. Prepare yourselves."
Over time the team intends to reveal more about the history, races, lore and worlds that make up the WildStar universe, and even include most of these aspects in game for players to experience first-hand.
