Explore In-Game Items with ZAM's Tooltips

Easily link to Final Fantasy XIV items on your site, blog, or forums!

With Final Fantasy XIV coming out in just a little over a month, the staff at ZAM felt today was a good day to start giving you all a look at what you can expect with our site. We're very excited about some of the features to come and are anxious to share them with you.

A favorite feature here at ZAM is Tooltips.  At first glance, it seems like a simple little mouseover, but it can be a very powerful tool for your fan site or linkshell forum! To find out how you can easily display item stats on your own site, read our full wikibase article on Tooltips.

Tooltips works all over the ZAM site and using it in your site, forums, or blog is a snap. After adding in a simple line of code to your site, all you would need to do is paste the URL of the item into your post and a mouseover of the link will pop-up the item's stats.

Examples:

FF Favorites
Potion
Chocobo Feather

Weapons
Iron Baghnakhs
Yarzonshell Harpoon

Armor
Sheepskin Subligar
Velveteen Shirt

Foods
Meat Miq'abob
Ginger Cookie

Hopefully with the sneak peeks at certain items in our database, you've noticed that the ZAM staff has been very hard at work in preparing the XIV site for all of you. Right now, Tooltips works, but the item pages themselves are not yet available. The item pages will be made available soon. Until then, have fun fiddling around with it!

Those of you that end up utilizing this fun feature, please feel free to post here about it. We want to know how it's working for you! If you have problems, feel free to post about in in our Feedback Forum.

Stacking?
# Aug 21 2010 at 8:17 AM Rating: Decent
I don't think the Stacking is that big of a deal, as long as more things can stack. If I can hold giant pieces of furniture in my inventory why can't I have stacks of crab shells or something lol. tbh I never understood why crab/beetle shells didn't stack in XI, i mean they all looked exactly the same and had the capabilities of stacking on top of each other lmao

Anyone else concerned over the fact that you can only hold 12 of things again... I hope they give us plenty of storage/inventory or make things last longer or allow more then one food.

wtf, seriously it's FFXI all over again with a different job/skill setup. I think the only reason they didn't just update and change FFXI was so they can attract new people with a "new" game. Yes the storyline is gonna be different, but come on! I Dunno why they couldn't have changed around the races, or at LEAST make them look significantly different instead of making the same damn races and just changing the name.... it's retarded.
If your gonna have all the same crap with a different storyline, wouldn't it have just been easier to polish the **** you already dropped then start a whole new game?

Doesn't make sense to you because you don't know what you're talking about. If they 'updated' FF11 with the stuff they put in FF14 it would make NGE look like a hotfix.

-Get rid of job subbing
-change/add a games worth of quests that can scale in difficulty and solo
-have your weapon select your job instead of just choosing it
-split levels into physical and class
-stat allocation
-add dozens of new attacks and abilities to every job
-allow mixing of more than two jobs at once
-speed up combat by about 500%
-turn crafting and harvesting into classes

Pretty sure the hundreds of thousands of people currently playing FF11 wouldn't take too kindly to these massive changes to the game they have been playing for years.

That is a very impressive feature. Now that is moving a step forward against the competition.

Subligar! Yay!

Oh, Subligar merchants... You delight in parading hordes of unsuspecting adventurers around in metal underpants, convincing us it's "protective" or "natural" to display our cup on the outside of our clothes.

Why do you derive such pleasure from our abuse? Is it really so much to ask for a simple cloth drape to conceal the chastity belt you market as being the "in" thing, or to permit us to wear it under our pants where it belongs?

And the coverage... Certainly, our unmentionables are defended from stabs and bites and all other innuendous descriptions of attack, but what of our fleshy, undefended thighs? Do you wish us to end like the black knight of Monty Python lore, with our unprotected legs removed at the hip?

Subligar merchant, thou dastardly knave... Have at you.
