Gear Swaps

This thread still seems to be a hot topic among posters. Should gear swapping be as important for maxing out the potential of your job in FFXIV as it is in FFXI?

Unique in game item for those who played FFXI?

How about a little recognition for the FFXI players? Maybe a cool necklace or some kind of furnishing for your character's dwelling in FFXIV would be nice. Perhaps since it's a different game there should be no connection at all.
