I just started "A Relic Reborn", and I am at the part where you need to trade a materia-melded weapon to Gerolt. I have checked the weapon and the materia type (x2), and everything looks fine, but the NPC has the big ol' red "locked" icon over his head. :(
A couple of things that I'm really hoping make no difference:
-I had been using the base weapon prior to starting the quest. The condition is currently 100% but the spiritbond is only 60% ATM. I had read that it was OK to use a used item - does it need to be at 100% spiritbond for it to work? That would be an easy fix!
-The second materia did not add the full stat bonus (also read that this is OK..)
Aside from that, everything else looks just fine. Any insight would be appreciated.

When you went to turn it in, were you on the job that the quest was for?
For example, if you're doing the Gae Bolg (DRG/LNC) relic weapon, were you on your DRG when you tried to turn in the weapon?

Sorry - forgot to mention that. I'm working on the WHM quest and was on WHM at the time.
Are the materia of correct type as told in the quest description (not the quest objective in tracker) and of Grade III?
Make sure that you've gotten the correct materia (and grade) slotted, make sure it's the right weapon, and make sure that you're not actually equipping it while trying to turn it in.

OMG - this was it (had it equipped). Thank you so much! Off to go hide in shame now..
