Can two people use the same account?Follow

Hello knowledgeable population!

I came here seeking help. I'm not 100% sure of the search terms to use for this, so I'm trying my luck on a new thread.

Trying to get my wife to play FFXIV with me, but can't really justify paying for two accounts. Over the course of a year that's over $200 in subscription fees. I'd prefer not.

So Basically, the only thing that will allow her to play with me, is if two characters on the same account can play at the same time. Is this even possible?

Please Help!

Thanks <3

Not possible, if you want to play together at the same time.

If you are okay alternating when you play, possible.

Not only does this not work, but if you try to log in from different IPs, your account will be locked out and you'll be forced to reset your password.

Two services account (subscription) in one same SE/Mogstation Account (log-in) can be played at the same time. However, you are asking about one service account (subscription x 1) the answer is no. To play at the same time, you both must subscribed, even if you decide to use the one log-in account.

I dont know anything about your financial situation ofcourse, but if you want your wife to play, you shouldnt look at it in the way of $200 a year, you have to look at it in the way of, "Oh, that's like $15 a month".

Cup of coffee or two less, maybe no mass shopping spree for her, and you have that really.

If $15 is what makes or breaks your account at the end of the month for hours and hours of fun and the ability to play together with your wife, then you probably shouldnt be playing yourself. But you are, so really. Dont worry about it too much, make her happy too. And if she doesnt like it, you can always just cancel the account.

It's really not worth the risk of having your entire game progression taken away if you get caught.

It is a violation of the Terms of Service. It could even make SE term your account.

So, if I bring my PS3 over to my brothers to play at his house, while he is playing on his PS3 under his account, I will be locked out? There is no sharing accounts, characters, passwords or anything else. But because I moved from my IP at my house to his IP at his house they will lock my account? I'm not understanding that logic? Is this correct?

Typically it is more of an issue when the IP changes countries.

They started that practice with ffxi because of stolen accounts and RMT logging them in from China.

I play my friends account from Mass all the time, and I live in Virginia - no biggie.

If you have a token I think they are a lot less strict about the possible IP bans.
