FFXIV-APP Parser problemFollow

#1 Sep 15 2013 at 3:37 PM Rating: Decent
Problem: The parser is not working correctly. It either A.) Records 1 battle, then doesn't record any more. B.) Shows my name in battle, but shows dmg being done. C.) Does absolutely nothing. D.) Will record multiple fights, but certain mobs such as mitelings, it will not pick up.
Additionally, every other part of the FFXIV- APP works, just not the parser.

I am running Windows 7, Net - 4.5, running program as administrator.

Attempted solutions I've tried:
Uninstalling / reinstalling with both winzip and 7-zip. I have also done a file check to make sure all files have been unzipped and placed in the proper directory.
I do have Norton Antivirus and I've made rules for it, and tried disabling it completely with no success of getting the parser to act in a stable fashion.
I've made sure all combat is being logged. -- I've checked, and in the plugin log tab I can see all combat, but in the plugin parser tab, the action log is not showing everything. Which leads me to believe something is wrong with the parser.

Do you have 1 tab in the game that has absolutely every chat code turned on?

If you don't have everything turned on it won't pickup all items because SE has a server side filter on the game and never sends you the data. If you do have everything turned on would you be willing to PM me a link to a download of the log xml file found under /logs with the unparseable chat and I can have a look and see if something special is happening.

Thanks!

Like Final Fantasy XI, the game specs will be extremely high for the time, but in about 5 years, an average machine can run it on max settings with little to no issues. Tanaka also expressed interest in making a benchmark program available.

Okay, after getting home I did a run through the area.
It failed to pick up 1 of the goblins I engaged, and picked up 0 of the mitelings. It picked up all the other fights.
I don't see anywhere to attach a file, and don't have anywhere for a http link. Do you want me to copy and paste it?
Its 2,235 kb.

You could use google drive; but the big question is:

Do you have 1 tab in the game that has absolutely every chat code turned on?

You don't have every chat code turned on. That's why it's not picking up most stuff. In your game settings pick or create one tab; goto settings and make sure to enable every chat.

Yes, I have. Take a look and tell me what I don't have turned on under my battle filter.

Square has messed something up where the chat sometimes doesn't dispay they way it should in memory. Now; I'm going to go test this but a big question I have now is when you have a pet out... does it change the chatcodes the game uses...

The reason it's not pickup up the damage to a monster is it's thinking the damage is to you instead. Let me dig deeper. >.> /shakesFistAtSE

OKay so I just checked on a few battles with and without a summon. The issue did not repeat itself. Did you have a chocobo out?

EDIT:
prelim testing shows no affect on log with chocobo. I think SE has done something to it where it gets corrupted in memory. I'll test further with/without parties and such.

No, I don't have a chocobo, haven't even made one of my classes to 30 yet to get it fighting. I only have an arcane pet out. I'll see if I can get fraps working and make a short vid of the mitelings, which I know don't parse.

Let me know if you restart the game/app if it still happens as well. This is strange beyond belief. I've even seen mobs attack me; and it shows that I'm attacking myself >.>

Okay, sorry for delay. I forgot fraps does not show entire screen, just the game. So, I d/l brandicam so you can see the 3 fights with mitelings, and 2 fights with antelope. Its in the directory of the screenshot link above. Or will be once its finished uploading.

These are quest mobs spawned from grabbing the apples then correct? Let me test that. Does it happen to open world mites or other mobs? When I get home tonight I'll go spawn some stuff.

ya, those are quest mobs. I've also had it happen on an occasional mob, like a goblin here and there. But I have not been able to figure out which or what causes others not to parse. Its very sporadic. Those are the only ones that I've been able to pin down as 100% never working.

Where you able to duplicate the results or figured out what's causing the problem?

Still testing; results are inconclusive so far; but some quest spawned mobs (gathering type quests) show in the wrong chat. I assume because it's "you" that spawned them. So the colors will show correctly based on how SE implemented the color coding; but the internal ID of the chatline is wrong.

.... today I did the levemete unlock quest for Camp Tranquil. Not only did it not parse the fights, but also put the poachers on basic screen as if they where in group. I've put up both a screen shot, and the log. The quest name is: (Leves of Camp Tranquil) He assigned me task: (Where the Fur's At) in order to complete the first one. I was running this mission primarily to test out my ifrit dps since I just got summoner, and was picking up my feisty little chocobo quest.

Just to be safe I checked my log text colors, and I don't see anything sharing the same color as my party color. Is SE trying to be the next BW?
