Dye ArmorFollow
Is there some reason I can't combine any of my armor black? I did unlock the quest with orange juice. Then I got five dyes off the AH. Then I tried to dye the following: cotton gaskins, cotton robe, padded leather duckbills, and hard leather ringbands. None of the items I could dye.
You should be able to dye them, right click the item and select "Dye" to open the window. There you will see the different root shades, click on the color of the dyes you chose and you will see which you can apply to the item. Certain armor cannot be dyed, mostly the green highlighted dungeon gear, you can tell if an item can be dyed if the item's icon has a small circle in the upper right.

I am guessing we need crafting skill as well as dye skill. All the armor has a small circle on top right. But cant be dyed. On the other hand II dyed a lvl 5 armor just fine. SO maybe we need crafting skill as well? In this case probably weaving?
I do what you say above always to only get "The cotton robe is not dyed."
Thanks, figured it out. seemed I was using the one dye to remove dye as the icon itself shows a black square.

oh you wanted to make it black? that color doesn't exist
My favorite dye so far is the one that undyes gear. Forget the name. Gave a fantastic charcoal to my scale mail while everyone was going for the white look.
And goes great with my hair. Military Fashion Show indeed.

Soot Black does exist but it's a DoH created color.

Yes it does, it's crafted not buyable from NPC. Soot black.
the color that looks black (and is VERY hard to tell otherwise unless in the sun, and even then it kinda looks black) is the color Ink blue. I use this color on all my armor, and it looks black as night.
