Veteran rewardsFollow

I am interested in the Veteran rewards offered from subscribing to the game (I am nowhere near the end of my included time from the purchase of the game) but I am just curious as to how the system works in regards to treating subscription versus game time cards.

I wish to obtain all 3 (currently available) ranks of veteran rewards today when the maintenance is over, but I am unsure if i should be subscribing via credit card or just using a game time card to fulfill the 90 day requirement. On some MMO's, veteran rewards are not automatically awarded on next log in regardless how long you have subscribed and fully paid for, yet grant the rewards instantly if a game time card is used instead.

Should I subscribe using a credit card or use a game time card to obtain all 3 ranks of veteran rewards instantly?

On a somewhat related note - I wish to alter the ''tribe'' of my race using the rank 1 veteran reward as I am finding the cat eyes somewhat unnerving. Is this included in the character alteration veteran reward?

Here is a link to the page in question.

This is the part which I am not 100% sure on. The wording gives me cause for concern over which method to add time to my account. I can freely use either but I just wish to make sure I choose the method that will grant me the rewards on day 1.

Do it however you wish. Paid time is paid time. Doesn't matter the source. You could even buy 3 months worth of crysta and apply that to your FF XIV service account, granted that is an option at present. I would just do what is safest and easiest for you. You'll get your rewards regardless of the method of payment.

EDIT: Guess I should mention if your looking for processing speed, then time cards would probably be the way to go, as those are instant transactions. Credit cards may take a while for processing, but its generally no more than a few minutes, hours at best.

Crysta can be used for FFXI or FFXIV so this isn't quite true. Also, the selected period of subscription must be applied to your account for the transaction to process. I would think that with a recurring subscription, your crysta would be applied when your free trial period expires. There may be a way around it, but I know of several reports of people adding crysta and not getting their time added immediately.

That's why I didn't just say 'buy crysta' and added that it must actually be applied to the FF XIV Service account. Once it has been applied, the time is then added to your Service account, at least that's the way I understand it, having never purchased or used crysta myself.

Right, but it's like a normal recurring charge. It's applied when your previous subscription or trial period runs out unless using a form of payment that needs to be charged immediately.

Ahh, so crysta can't be applied as a one shot deal? It must be done on a recurring basis? I did not know that.

What I can't figure out is that I signed up for 90 day subscription a while back. I go onto Mog Station and it says active and looks like my next bill cycle is early November but I never received any of the veteran rewards in game. I have no clue why I haven't received them. I input all my payment/subscription info the first day Mog Station went live.

If you put in a credit card for a reoccurring subscription, then it won't be charged until your free time is up (37 days, from the start). So you won't get your items until then.

from what I can understand is that if you are on a billing cycle you get the rewards after the amount of time has passed, which is 90 days. If you buy prepaid time or crysta and give them the money in a non refundable way...then you get the rewards instantly...if im not mistaken.

I'm pretty sure you get them as soon as you get charged. The issue is you don't get charged until your current time is up, which is 30 days for new players and an additional 7 was added due to issues at start.

I chose the 90 day sub as well, I have gotten my gender-bender juice so far (1.0, non-legacy, no preorder).

All 1.0 players got that because there was type of error in the beta that didn't allow some people to edit their characters. You should be getting another one shortly for the preorder bonus.

They need to just give me my rewards in advance, because I'm not going anywhere for the next three+ years.
