I'd love to know more about each class'/job's limit break: what each does, and, perhaps most importantly, for the dd limit breaks--how much damage does each do relative to the others? So if I'm on BLM and there's a DRG in my party, which one of us should limit break for maximum damage?

I unlocked scholar the other day (yay) but have no idea what my limit break does. Would hate to waste it trying it out in a dungeon and get yelled at by one of those angry zerg tanks. (You know the ones I'm talking about.)^^;

Healer (SCH/WHM/BRD) -> Heal party, LB 3 also resurrect party.
Melee DD (MNK/DRG) -> Single target damage LB, more potent than Magic DD
Magic DD (ACN/BLM/SMN) -> Area AoE damage LB, less potent (somewhere about half of Melee DD potency) but very large AoE. I put Arcanist seperately because unlike the other Class -> Job retain the same role, Arcanist count as DD while SCH count as Healer.
Tank DD (PLD/MRD) -> Defense up LB, LB 3 should give invulnerability.

Thanks for the quick info, Khornette! Now let me just jump back into a dungeon-- sigh, maintenance. JUST KIDDING.

Oh man! I'd better watch my back, I must've pissed off a lot of melee dds with all my Skysharding. XD

Gotta love the LB's. So many pt's I've been in and no one even mentions them, but then when they see my Lallafel Lnc jump 6 feet in the air and go all Gundam style on the boss, they are like, "woa, how did you do that?"

I think it's strange that archer and bard heal.

I hope they add more limit breaks in the future, specific to each class/job. Also, maybe even personal limit break bars.
They could use this to introduce a form of skillchaining in FFXIV. I'd like to have some sort of build up/charge ability to break up just doing ability rotations.
