Job confusion Follow

So over the weekend I did manage to unlock my 1st Job. It happens to be DRG. I then went on about unlocking the ability to call your chocobo to fight by your side. I changed to CNJ, as I see tanks and healers, mainly it seems healers, are needed ATM. So why not join the Needed crowd?
I like to be geared, and I really don't want to rely on quests for gear so I also decided to work on crafting (what I pretty much did Sunday). Crafting is pretty boring imo...

Well today when I got home from work I checked these forums and saw that there is this event going on. Logged in, people in FC were talking about, and once I had the needed info I went on about getting my 90 wet ash needed for all the swimsuits.

To join the fate near Costa de Sol, I went as my 30DRG. I didn't really play as it much when I unlocked it, it was just a goal.
So I'm there, joining in on FATEs while waiting for the Return of the King one to pop up, and I notice when I kill something I get Lancer ##### EXP.
Woops?
But no, I have the DRG stone equipped as I am and did use Jump often.
So now the confusion.
Does my DRG level up, or is it my LNC that levels up?
I asked in FC and was told nothing.
