Help Needed for InstallationFollow

Hello everyone,

I have recently finally managed to get hold of a digital copy of FF14. After registering and installing the launcher, I am stuck at the patching phase. Since it is a digital copy, I must download everything, and it seems that there is no resume download option. So here's the situation:

Every time, i can download until 1.38gb/8.3gb. Once it reaches that point, the "Downloading ffxiv H2013.08.09.0001.0000a" part just changes to "Updating ffxiv H2013.08.09.0001.0000a" and stays like that for forever. I've left it alone for over 1.5 hrs once and it always stays like that... without moving one. I tried installing it several times (5 times now) and every time it's the same thing.

I am just wondering if anybody else has encountered this . If so, how can I fix it? If not, is there a way to install the game without going through the client?

Thanks in advance!

did you have the phase 3 beta or earlier installed ?

brother had trouble installing and the 2 most common things are:

1) havent un-installed the old client from phase 3 including deleting the "my documents" FFXIV folder

2) your my document location has been altered for example instead of the default C:\users\name\my documents its on E:\docs. My brother had his documents going to an external drive and FF would not install without it being the default path for windows. As soon as he defaulted it installed no problem.

The installation is divided into 5 parts a-e, and then the patches afterwards.
I am guessing it is having trouble going into part b?

See if your Square Enix folder in program files (x86) is read only, take off read only. Try doing this for My documents\My Games folder also

I personally had a lot of problem downloading and installing the game also, so I went to torrent the game files instead of downloading off the launcher. Might worth a try, cause torrent supports resume and dl at a higher speed for me.
