Anyone having an issue just trying to patch the game after downloading the log in client?
I've not heard anything related to patching -- That's one of the things that seem to be doing well. What kind of problem are you experiencing? We may be able to help.

I was a FFXIV 1.0 player, so I downloaded the client from Square. Once I log in and the patch starts, it gets to about 750 MB downloaded, and errors out. Not real sure why. I may try uninstalling and reinstalling.
