Hi-

I am a legacy player from FFXIV initial release in 2011 (?). I started playing FFXIV ARR again and most of my characters equipment are "dated". What does that mean? And what can I do with them?

Just means for various reasons the items no longer have a use, and are statless. Best thing to do is get spirit bind up and convert to materia.
