I just hit level 50 last night and finished the 8 man dungeons to "beat the game". I have a limited understanding of what I should be doing, primals drop equipment I guess? Ifrit drops weapons, I don't know what hard mode Garuda/Titan drop though. I'm unsure how tomes work, I get they're a currency to buy gear, but I think I saw people discussing a cap on them? Is there a limit to how many you can get in a period of time? If so, how many can you get and when does the limit reset? Lastly, how do relic weapons work? Some people on Gilgamesh seem to have them already since there are high level crafters (which are necessary I'm guessing?).
So yeah, as you can see, I'm kind of clueless. If any more informed people could crack an egg of knowledge, I and I'm sure many others would greatly appreciate the learning.

Wow, if it's that easy to get to 50 and go through the current endgame dungeons (except for, I'm assuming, a couple of "raid" type places) then SE better start shoveling a lot of coal on the content development team.
Subscription based MMOs have pretty much all perished recently at the altar of content burn out.
And don't retort/flame with the "lore/story" aspect.
That will keep a very small % of people around paying every month. But as Bioware found out (and I accurately predicted), except for a very small cadre of hardcore lore nerds, people will not pay a monthly subscription for "story" content.
With $15/month I can buy a couple of books that have writing and story leagues above anything done in video games.

If you look on your currency tab you will see the tomes. Even now I am still unsure of the cap but for mythology it says This week 0/300 so I can only guess that for mythology there is a cap per week while philosophy doesn't have this same mention.
As for your lvl 50...right now just getting better equip for it. Leveling up your other classes to get better cross class skills, leveling up your crafting so you can meld materia into the higher level armors or even make your own armor. I am at level 45 myself but there is still a ton of things to do in the game.
We have to wait for 2.1 to see how many things get added in and seeing how they want a 2.5-3 month update window for content....I believe there will still be tons of things to do especially once the level cap is raised.
Not to sure about relic weapons either but once I hit 50 I will be exploring this as well and if I find the answer before it gets posted then I will post it myself.
