They might have to have them online for the maintenance. All they have to do is take down the lobby then do a reboot. Without the Lobby, no one's getting in.

In addition to what people who replied have already said, ARRSTATUS probably takes a little bit to update its status. I don't know for sure, but it probably isn't accurate all the time.

I don't have a link, but I heard people in-game saying it was scheduled from 12:00 AM PST to 3:00 AM PST.

You have to admit, it was a close race though and I was the odds on favorite in the preliminary. I still think the election was rigged, but I'm just being mature about it.

Love the use of the term "maintenance" when referencing "servers"..

Unless they're using really, really old gear and/or have their "data center" in a closet, today's hardware doesn't need "maintenance" that often.

What it really means is "down to fixed borked code"..

You should be co-leader.

I don't know who this "Killua" was but I'm confident I will make him/her look bush league by comparison.

Bring your A game...

Also ARRSTATUS isnt always right, The other day servers had been up for like 10 hours and ARRSTATUS still said all NA/EU servers were down.

Maintenance doesn't only refer to hardware related, it refers to software as well. They have to upload, install and test any new updates to the client and that's impossible while it's running on the server

I prefer "maintenance" if not for the convenience of typing.

"Emergency down to fix borked code" just doesn't ring right.

True but the vast majority of people not in IT don;t understand that.

Besides, using the term "maintenance" is misleading as well. maintenance refers to routine/regular work on a functional environment to maintain that functional state.

But meanings and definitions have been so corrupted to obfuscate and confuse it really doesn't matter anymore; like hoe a janitor is now a Sanitation Engineer.

Nice observation. That's exactly WHY it's called maintenance, because it does need to be a periodical process to keep the registry and files up to date to avoid corruption. If even half of the PC owners in the world followed the business's way of updating and maintaining their software and hardware, Tech Support would soon become a thing of the past, I'll wager.

Not all janitors are hoes. Don't discriminate.
