Besides, using the term "maintenance" is misleading as well. maintenance refers to routine/regular work on a functional environment to maintain that functional state.
But meanings and definitions have been so corrupted to obfuscate and confuse it really doesn't matter anymore; like hoe a janitor is now a Sanitation Engineer.
Nice observation. That's exactly WHY it's called maintenance, because it does need to be a periodical process to keep the registry and files up to date to avoid corruption. If even half of the PC owners in the world followed the business's way of updating and maintaining their software and hardware, Tech Support would soon become a thing of the past, I'll wager.
