I've been to a few stores today (not GameStop) and PC copies are gone and minimal PS3 copies still on the shelves. I asked at one store thinking they just didn't order PC and they said about 60 copies went and almost 100 PS3. Considering I live in BFE that's pretty amazing.

Wow, I'm even more glad I logged in at 6am and left our PS3's on all day.
yea.. im happy for SE but worried that the servers will be getting much much worse as the day goes on
New servers will be ready in the JP data center next week... I am assuming the same efforts are underway for the NA data center.

Does that mean the JP servers are just as bad as the NA/EU servers? I have been wondering, but it seems like all of SE's announcements have only been directed at NA/EU.

I can't speak for other JP servers but I have had ZERO problems with Durandal. I log in and out with no fear of being locked out. That said, it possibly has problems during JP prime time.
For people worried that more players means more server problems, they've locked out character creation on all the NA servers for the past two days. Problems on the Legacy servers may have gotten worse as the 1.0 crowd returns, but new players can't possibly be causing your woes right now because they can't join your servers. They have to join EU or JP servers as of right now.

Thank you kindly - although slightly concerned about the description being Japan data center worlds. The quote does say facilities though, so leads it open to some interpretation.
Gotta fix the NA problem SE....came home from work and can't log in on my legacy character or my new world character...gotta fix it.

Yea tell me about i have a 3 hour break between school and work. 1 hour gone and can't log in to game. I hope they fix it, because these 3 hours are the only time i can squeeze in play time during the week. Why own a game if you can't play it right?
Playing on Tonberry (JP New) since EA, and apart from about the first hour being unable to login due to congestion, no real issues (2 x 90000 error I think, in about 5 days now).
That being said, it was the designated Oceanic/SEA EN server for JP New, and a 2nd has since been created (Tiamat), as character creation was locked pretty quickly. In short, JP are having numerical issues as well - just nowhere near as bad (seemingly) as NA/EU.
I do pity you guys now (at work), but later tonight when I'm at home ... my pity gets subsumed by my amusement at watching my Lala skewer mobs 10 times her size on her lance
