Every now and then my screen will go black and when it comes back on I get about 20-25 FPS. Most of the time it fixes itself when I Alt+Tab out of the game and come back in. It's extremely annoying...especially during fights. I've tried the Nvidia 320.49 drivers and also the 326.80 beta drivers, but this problem doesn't discriminate.
Anybody else having this same problem?

Sounds like overheating to me. I'm playing on a 760 just fine.

You can download MSI afterburner and run the game, then alt-tab to see how hot your card is getting. I'm sure nvidia has temp monitoring software too if you don't want MSI.

Known issue. It's not from overheating, but as of now I haven't heard much more on it. I did read that it happens less frequently when you run at lower graphical settings. Just curious, do you run any other programs in the background? If so, do they also experience issues?

Its personal preference and all, but yes we need to educate WoW players that this is OUR game, these are Characters and not Toons. Time to beat that into them one at a time.

I have the same issue with a GTX 650. The screen will turn black briefly and I know the game is still running because I can hear the music. Most of the time the picture comes back after a few seconds but I have alt+tab to get it back too. Doesn't happen very freqeuently but yeah, it is pretty annoying.

I have the same issue with GTX 660, but didn't have it back when I was using GTX 460.

When in full screen mode, the window usually goes black the FPS drops immensely, then it goes back up after a few seconds.

The error that occurs is a pop up bubble on the lower right of your desktop with the description: "Nvidia display driver has stopped working and has successfully recovered."

However, if you play in full screen mode, you won't see that error since the pop up bubble disappears when you alt tab out. If you're running in windowed mode, however, once that issue pops up, you will see the notice bubble appear in the lower right of your desktop.

I've tried googling the problem before. A lot of people have the same problem with various games. There are a bunch of different "solutions" that different people have tried, some are successful, some aren't. It seems that no one has a real universal solution to it yet. I've tried a few different things, but the problem is still here.

Really sucks.

I don't have any programs running in the background and you're right about not overheating. I use GPU-Z to track the temps and the last time it happened, the temp was at 61 C.

I did have the same problem with my 660ti, but it gradually decreased. By the time I switched to 320.49, it had stopped completely, though I'm not sure if it was BECAUSE of the switch, or just a coincidence.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. I'd try posting on the official forums.
