Are you using an HDMI cable?
#3 Aug 24 2013 at 9:01 AM Rating: Default
yep. 1080p tv, hdmi cable. before I hopped on I was playing ni no kuni, and it looked just fine. soo..
edit: I also find it kind of odd the animations of the enemies and other PCs. It's like stop animation...

When I played the PS3 during the 3rd beta phase, it looked like everything was animated by stop motion.

Yeah, your exaggerating just a bit for dramatic effect. Was just playing on PS3 version and it looks fine not as hot as in a high end PC but that's why your going to rush out and get the PS4 when released, chasing the dream of graphical supremacy.

I've not played since P4 but on my ps3 it looks just fine... HDMIed in and all... It could be because your tv is 1080p and the ps3 only runs at 720p. Ps4 will be 1080...

Looks fine for me...

What a dumb thing to say.
#9REDACTED, Posted: Aug 24 2013 at 9:09 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) More like 2001-ish, but yeah.

I know it seems like you know. A bad thing I just.. Trust me I don't want to exaggerate. I had high hopes. Technically speaking I still do. I played FFXI from 03 to 08, then again and again like the next person. Honestly my hopes sunk when I started playing this.. There may be some kind of problem I'm unaware of. The stop motion thing is a little odd. I mean. It's not solely the graphics I'm concerned with. I enjoy old games just fine, so long as the gameplay is there but I feel soured on this too.. i guess i was expecting a little more.. i know it's release. it's just, there is more detail and the art is okay.. I just for one dont understand the gloomyness (started in gridania) , and well. if everything moves in stop motion permanently for one it seems like dealbreaker for me. Not so much a well graphical thing. it's just nearly a mechanical issue. like, I've got no vested interest in any other game... so im just sunk on this. its just my opinion.. my opinion is just that when i started playing it felt awful... so er' yeah.. nothing i can do about that.

Tried out the PS3 in beta. It didn't look too bad. Compared to PC: the colors were a little less vibrant, NPC draw distance was pretty short, NPCs in high activity are set to simple animations

My 1 year old laptop i paid 500 bucks for plays it maxed minus high grade shadows and my 600 dollar desktop plays it full out at a soild 50-60 dont need a super pc to run this game and it looks better then ps3

The PS3 version is to FFXIV as the PS2 version is to FFXI. The inferior system to play it on, unfortunately.

It should look much better on the PS4. I'm holding out for that version and sticking with PC for now.

I see I wasn't the only one who Googled "video games in 2001" and scoped out the Wikipedia article on that very topic. Smiley: lol

Might be best to wait for a different game if it bothers you that much. Maybe the new Elder Scrolls or something. Ryse and The Witcher 3 both look really nice.

I was planning on getting the PS3 version, as I already had 1.0 on PC, but after a few hours of it in Beta, I decided against it. It just doesn't compare to the experience on my PC. So I just HDMI out to my TV with a 360 gamepad for the couch experience. I might check out the PS4 version when it comes along though.

Still, it's nice to see it up and running on a console now.

why are ppl acting like this game looks horrible on PS3? some even says it looks like a PS2 game.. it doesntt look that bad... it looks just as good if not better than final fantasy 13 on PS3.. and that game doesnt look horrible (or like a ps2, or 1995 pc game) at all

I am on ps3 and the lag is quite bad during FATE. Is this ps3 only issue?

They added jumping to this game Pawkeshup, but they haven't got around to adding griding or flips to it.

so it obviously doesn't measure up to some 2001 games.
