I preordered FFXIV online from GameStop, but I didn't pay it off. Did I have to have paid it off in order to get EA? Can I still do it now and be eligible for it? Also, I got the standard $39.99 edition and I'd like to know whether that edition counts for EA. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
call gamestop (from there website) because you should have gotten a code the day you preorderd. I got mine and i only put 5$ down.

Maybe it's because I didn't put anything down which caused me not to get the code..

So I gave them a call and apparently the guy told me that in order to get the code I had to have fully paid the game off and to have been a pro member. He also said that there was a small window of opportunity to get the codes and that I had probably missed it...

Yeah, you probably shouldn't shop at that Gamestop anymore...I'm pretty sure you put 5 bucks down, they give you a receipt with the pre-order code on it. You then pay for the game when you pick it up.
It sounds like he was trying to con you into a bunch of stuff you didn't need or want. I'd cancel the pre-order and order from SE directly with digital download...
It's cool, I would just preorder on Amazon. You get a $10 credit if you buy it for the PS3, and you get your access code almost immediately. For PC you get it quick too, and I think its like $5 off next amazon purchase, and $5 of digital game downloads.
