I keep getting the same answer of "you have to purchase both"

If I have purchased the PC version when 1.0 was out, and ALSO purchased purchase PS3 version.

Can I play Early Access on both systems? Or just the system I registered my code for? My PS3 client says I am ready to go, my PC version says no active service. Is there an additional step I need to do to link? I thought I did so when signing in and downloading on the PS3.

If you have a preorder code, use it on the PS3. That way you can play early on the PS3.

The P4 invite you got for being 1.0 is the same client, if you used that and played in P4, update it and you will be able to get into the early access on your PC. The only way to get the PS3 client download is by using early access on the PS3 or have been invited to play in P3 (I think), or had been invited to play on the PS3 in P4. Otherwise you need to use the code to be able to DL it.

Everyone from 1.0 was automatically in P4 so you should have got the client.

Then so answer your real question... Provided you have both clients downloaded, yes, you can play early access on both. The PS3 and PC are both connected to the same server, cross-platform play, and this makes your character usable on both platforms. Since your account is accessible to both systems on the same server.

The only other thing is that you have to LINK your PSN to your SE account. When you start up the PS3 you will be prompted to link them.

I hope that helps.

Thanks for the detailed explanation.

But, my question is; can I play EA on PC if I bought the PS3 version from the PSN yesterday to avoid code conflict. My PS3 version says I am good to go, but, my PC version does not.

I am pretty sure I linked accounts while signing into the client, it asked me to link then. But, PC client still shows up as not ready.

There's so many answers floating around I don't think we'll know for sure til tomorrow. I'm in the same boat but my PC did show this morning to wait for EA. I linked accounts last night around 6pm CST so maybe there's a delay for it to show up.

Thank you for your help. That was my concern, I see 50,000 different answers. And everyone just keeps telling me I need to buy both copies... I already know that. Haha

Once you purchase a PS3 copy for FFXIV and link it to your PS3 account you can play using that login.

that account can be played on both PC and PS3, is account specific not console specific.
