There are a LOT of threads with people confused about the Phase 4 client and the client you can download from PSN when you enter your early access code into SE's website. After trolling around the boards for hours, I got no definite answer. I finally decided to enter in my PSN code and see what happens. When you enter the code it takes you to the download page, and on this page it clearly states the date of the download . . . Which matches the exact date I downloaded my Phase 4 client.
When you go to your downloads in PSN, it only shows 1 FFXIV client download (even though you should have two, if you did Phase 4 and entered the code for EA) which again, shows the clients are identical.
This isn't the issues, we are all aware of this, I was just restating the facts for anyone who didn't troll the board for hours like I did. The issue is that we had no "Official Word" from SE that the Phase 4 client can be used for EA.
I decided to log into my Phase 4 client to look around, like others have already stated, I was able to connect my EA information to my Phase 4 client. No issue there. If you look at the announcement page of the client, there is an announcement called "Announcing the Starting Time of Early Access! (08/22/2013)" click on this and read.
For those that are too lazy (like me) I am posting screenshots. Please forgive the crappy links, but I am not able to post embedded pictures into the thread (if a mod can download the pictures from the link and embed it would be appreciated).
So use your code! Log into Phase 4 client, update info, and sit back and watch the countdown clocks! Have fun! See you on Ultros!
