So I purchased a copy of ARR so that I could get early access (I bought the CE for 1.0). SE cant seem to make anything really simple, so I need someone to walk me through this like I am a 3 year old. I am assuming that I can do it, but how?

Pretty sure that once you use your early access code, the CD key from your digital purchase will be locked to that account, therefor making both your copies ungiftable <- is that a word?

Even if you had bought a physical copy, you could give him the game disk to install it, but he wouldn't be able to use the cd-key separately. The only way it would work is if EA codes are completely arbitrary from the game purchase associated with it. I'm pretty sure they're unique keys tied to your copy of the game. If you give him both early access and game key in this scenario, he would be able to play it as his own account.

Try using your early access code with your original account and give him the key for your digital copy. See if they don't conflict. Only one of you will have early access either way though.
