Since it's pretty clear the "other" option is going to win, I"m putting up the new poll now. I'm going to put all the choices in. If it's a close vote between a couple, we will eliminate the lowest vote-getters and revote with less options. If it's more than a couple vote difference, we will just go with the winner of this poll.

What do you want the name of the Zam Free Company to be?

Am I able to change my vote? I thought it would be a blind vote until results were posted, but obviously people can see which selections have a chance before casting their vote. I didn't look at the votes beforehand so now mine is a throwaway. Smiley: laugh

If we had the time for it, I'd be up for that. As it stands, I think I'll let this poll run until tomorrow. Then take the top 3 (or 4 if it's close) and run a new poll. So if you voted for one of the ones that gets tossed out, you'll get a chance at redemption!

I'm not a fan of having the FC be the same name as the LS for one very simple reason. It's an in-joke.

Linkshell names can be whatever.. but the Free Company name is the outward-facing front of the group. Karma Zameleons makes absolutely no sense without already knowing what Zam is and how it works. Whether stated or not, part of the function of a group like this is to increase the size of its own community, and that's hard when it's not really identifiable.

How about this...

In addition to this poll, we should start another one (now) that doesn't have Karma Zameleons on it... and the poll that runs tomorrow could be the linkshell name versus the winning alternate name.

Boom, problem solved. Best way to find out whether the "something else" crowd would really beat out the linkshell name.


EDIT: Or, we could just have tomorrow's poll be just Karma Zameleons up against the one other top vote-getter. Rather than have three or four options (which I originally supported), I think having a simple head-to-head matchup would be the best way to ensure we get the right name, given the time constraints.

This here is the reason why I didn't vote for it to be the FC name. I don't even know what the joke is, and to be fair and honest I'd rather see something else for the FC name.
