Ediit: It was found out that turning in a quest, that gives shards as a reward when you have 9999 shards already, will cause the quest to bug and not give you xp, items, or allow you to complete the quest and move forward in the quest line.
As you've mentioned, weâ€™ve determined that there was a bug that would not allow you to complete quests when you have the maximum amount of shards or gil and the quest rewards you with shards and gil. As this is a critical bug, we will be addressing this for the official release version.

O.o? There is a max to gil? Hmmmm.... wonder what it is.
