is anyone else having trouble with this?

i can easily cycle through enemies using tab or any other button i want, but i'm having trouble finding a way to cycle NPC's or PC's. In the keybindings there are only options for nearrest target, and i don't really want to use my mouse.

I had it set up nicely in 1.0 so it worked exactly the same as it did in FFXI, but with beta 4 (my first time playing since servers went off in 1.0) it seems rather difficult to target. Also, changing the targeting to all, enemy, party, friends doesn't seem to do anything or at least i can't tell the difference between them. Is there a special way to cycle through targets that i haven't found yet?

any help would be appreciated thanks.

There is a whole tab in the Character Options dedicated to setting up targeting exactly how you want it. You can even have different cycling based on things like whether your weapon is drawn or if it's sheathed. It's pretty extensive, so might take some tweaking and messing around to find out what everything means. I'm sure someone will right a guide on it soon though. No, it won't be me. I'm not even sure what all the settings are yet.

@OP
Yes, something changed between phase 3 and phase 4. I suddenly also struggle to target what I want to target!

That's a great link. I am considering buying a usb keyboard with a mouse embedded because of Gnu's recommendation. I am wondering, however, if I plug the keyboard/mouse in and have my wireless controller controlling my character, will both peripherals work simultaneously?

I would think so. I know that the touchpad function on my PS3 wireless keypad works the mouse pointer without issue while using the controler.
