http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/results.jsp?domain=xivpads.com

Zam has officially acquired XIVDB.com and XIVPads.com and brought their developers on board to join the Zam team. What does this mean for these forums? Well they're about to get more awesome. Some of the things we are looking at doing:

  • XIVDB Tooltips will be added to the forums.
  • Premium members on Zam gain the same perks as donors over on XIVPads and XIVDB.
  • Site login between Zam and XIVDB/Pads will be integrated.
  • Forum Signatures from XIVPads will be implemented here.
  • More things to come!

Now that you've stickied this and P4 starts tomorrow feel free to take down my sticky. Nobody looks at it anyway lol.

I also predict multiple threads below asking what the big new is lol. Smiley: laugh

My stickies are temporary, you should turn yours into a compendium.

Oh ok I'll work on it some after P4 is done. During the wait for early access. I know Bartel has a guide out there that needs archived lol

It's a shame that making something a sticky on this board almost guarantees that it WON'T be read Smiley: oyvey

I did expect something like this from Zam. Good to see they're taking XIV seriously. Are the donor perks cool? Smiley: clown

They could be. We're working on thinking up some new ones, but I linked to their donor page so you could see what they are.

There isn't a timeline for getting that setup yet, right now they're furiously working on the Phase 4 data.

It should be something cool. Like if we put a fund together and pay for the server for a year Wint arm wrestles a gorilla or boxes a kangaroo or something like that.

I was thinking it might be a merger/absorption of mooglebox since their site went down not too long ago. While I loved the homespun feel of MB and wanted to see them survive somehow I'm excited for the massive amounts of knowledge and information XIVDB will offer here. A for sure one stop shop for all FFXIV =D

Will FFXIVDB be updated with all the new items and recipes upon release?

I'm also really hoping for detailed monster drop lists so I can easily find materials for crafting.

They're adding Phase 4 data as they get it, a lot of things were removed by SE.

The plan for drop lists is to have players use FFXIV-APP to update our database with monster data as they encounter it.

What all can FFXIV-APP do? It seems pretty awesome. Is it going to be an unofficial source of add-ons? Also What exactly is Parsing? I know it has something to do with collecting data but what all does it collect? Is it sort of like a damage/healing meter in other games? It would be nice to see how much damage certain combos/positioning do.

What exactly do you mean? The site isn't working for you?

The drop down for "Monsters" is greyed out. Clicking doesn't do anything that I can tell.

Do you think they will need screenshots of the various monsters? If so, what is the process to submit images? What size image will fit (pixel X pixel dimension)?

Hunting for mobs and trying to catch them in sceenshots doing awesome poses sounds like a fun way to contribute.

I posed those questions to PremiumVirtue, will let you know what I hear.

No matter what I put in search, and no matter what tab I hit (items etc.) nothing happens.

Working for me, a search for Curtana worked just fine. What browser are you using? Do you have Noscript running?
