PS3 Client questionFollow

Do I have to pay $40 for the PSN version to get access to download the PS3 beta client or can I download the client with my 12 digit beta code and later input my early access code I got from my preorder at Gamestop (and eventually enter my disc) to keep the game running past launch date? All I have heard so far is that folks who are paying for the game on PSN are downloading the client. I still have not heard if someone who did not pay for the game on PSN has downloaded the beta client with the 12 digit code only. Does anyone in this situation have any advice?

I didn't buy the PS3 version and I have the P4 client now with the 12 digit code. Go to Acc. managment..redeem codes..follow instructions from there.

Thanks, that is helpful information! I have a one hour lunch break coming up soon so it is nice to know ahead of time what I need to do

Yes, I have confirmed that the PS3 beta client will download without purchasing the game in the Playstation Store (for those who preordered with Gamestop, or somewhere else) as long as you go to the Playstation Store, click "redeem code" and enter the 12 digit code. I suppose my connection is better than I thought, it took just one hour to downlaod the ~6200 MB.

Are you in NA? I am still getting that error message that they acknowledged from earlier about no valid service account available.

I am getting some of the same errors. I got the e-mail yesterday with the 12-digit code and downloaded the 6gb what i assume is the installer? There is no way it's only 6 gbs, phase 3 was 14gb. Anyway, after the user agreement and the Square-Enix account have been entered, it comes up that I need to buy the game from the PSN to continue, as it doesn't detect an active service account. Ugh, I just want to get this ball rolling. I hope I don't have to wait till 4 in the morning to figure out what I need to be doing here to play the beta.

Edit: I just found this, which pretty much sums up what is happening. I sure hope they get it fixed. Smiley: lol

That explains it, I didn't get that far yet. I suppose I have this to look forward to when I get home... The installer probably unzips the data in a 2 to 1 ratio, so when it actually installs it will be ~14 gb. They will hopefully have a fix by tomorrow.
