If you subscribe for 90days of the get go, you will get the 30, 60, and 90 day rewards at once. I wonder what comes at 120 and beyond? What about those that were subscribed since they started asking for money, last May. Good stuff in my opinion. Little extras always make paying for something a bit more fun.

I really like the Beady Eye minion too, Ill have that one following me around for sure.

This is pay as you go, once you pay, you will get the 30day reward. Pay for another month and on day 60, you will get the 60day reward.



These quote may seem contradicting but its giving you two options, pay month by month, get rewarded month by month. Pay 90days UPFRONT get all rewards upfront.

They're not for the length of time you have been subscribed for, so those who subscribed before won't get anything extra. They're for paying for the subscription plans.

Also, when I read your post I realized, "Legacy" Status, is the reward for prior to ARR subscriptions. Complete with items and lower cost of living...

So, I missed most of the 2nd half of the live letter due to having a dentist appointment, but when I came back I read notes about this on the official translations thread that Bayhone puts up. I just wanted to clarify something. These days are "accumulated" right? This is how I interpreted it. So, if I pay only the monthly fee, I'll get the ahriman mount after 3 months right? I don't HAVE to automatically pay for 3 months ahead of time do I?

From what I understood from the translation, these are called "Veteran's Rewards" as opposed to "Pre-Subscriber Rewards". Yoshi attended a business meeting with financial backers and they wanted a longevity system implemented that would reward players for staying with the game. My understanding is that regardless of how much you pre-pay, you will not get the items until you have actually been registered for that length of time (a moogle delivers it), and you will still get the items if you pay month to month indefinitely with your credit card. It would be pointless to give you all of the items at once, that will not guarantee that you will stay around playing the game. The model would then be broken.

Scenario:
Player - Hey I am rich, let me play for three years all at once! Now can I have my 30 inch Ifrit statue for my 1095 days?
Devs- Ummm, we haven't set up rewards for that far ahead...

Was it a minion? From the video it looked like he was really moving it around on the screen like a cursor (which also makes me wonder about PS3 and how that would work...)

DCUO had a lower subscription fee for 90 day subs... hopefully these are ON TOP of a lower sub fee

Yeah, mounts are the real deal. But wait, you don't get a chocobo for some time... Are they saying that level 1's who pay for 90 days will have access to the ahriman mount right off the bat?

It makes sense to reward players at the end of the term but it also guarantees income. If they say, play to X day get X reward, maybe people will say OK, but at some point someone will say, "not worth it". If they say, pay for 3 months now, get all of it now, that is guaranteed 3 months of service that they can count as income now and in the next thee months down the road. That means, 10 players do 90day service, that's at least 10 subs in 3 months even if the game SUCKS. If its month by month, the players might drop out at any time and they can't count on it.

Why would I sub for 90day with no immediate reward? Why not pay month by month then? After month two I can save my money if it sucks, but if I do the 90day sub, I have no choice. I bet the stock holders are going to be really happy with the amount of Eyeball mounts and minions running around on day 1 of paid service.

I just realized I will have more minions than I know what to do with... Crap. How can my little grunty compete with a flying eyeball. They better start giving secret stats or bonuses at random so I want to use them all. ; ;

This works well since my rule is to sub to an MMO for 3 months and if I am still playing, then it was well worth my time and I'll continue. Sadly, some MMOs and I didn't work out. IT'S ME, NOT YOU! I SWEAR!
