Comparing armor/wepFollow

So I had been playing a lot of diablo 3 and I like how I can mouse over a desired equipment and have a window pop up of the item I'm currently equipped with so I can quickly compare both equipments' attributes.

With FFXIV, I've been placing the armour window as close to my character window to compare the differences in the attributes. Or if I'm buying equipment from an NPC, I have my character window as close to the NPC's selection window.

Is there workaround for this? It's very tedious to mouse back and forth thinking "ok, this item has +2 strength and +1 dex while my item has +1 strength and +2 dex...." so on and so forth. At one point, I actually got pen and paper out and wrote down what my item's attributes were and compared them to what was available to buy...

It's not a workaround for this problem but if you have the said item equipped, when you hover your mouse over another item in your inventory or armory chest you get red or green text to indicate higher/lower stats. I know this was still working at some point during beta but I can't say with 100% conviction that stage 4 P3 it was still there. However this still only shows you red or green for stats that are shared by both items and doesn't include stats that appear on only one of the items. I agree it is quite difficult to compare and an option to do this would really help when deciding what gear to switch etc. Did you post this on the official feedback in the beta forums? If so what's the link and I will like the post in support.

The only stats it shows are DEF and MDEF.


It doesn't do anything for the attributes (str, dex, vit, int, mnd, pie); even if they both have those stats.
