Hello all. I was wondering how group play works. I'm in beta but haven't really left Ul'dah. I've just been having a blast inside the city walls, lol. Does anyone know how group play works? When you group up are the camps mobile or are they more like picking a camp and pulling mobs to it like in the early (fun,fun) days of XI?
You have many of the same options as you would solo. Leves & guildhests. Could also team up and go through your hunting logs. A roaming FATE party is another option. One thing I've seen many people doing is repeating dungeon runs.
All mobile group activities. No standing waiting for pulls or anything you are running around either doing FATE, guildleves, dungeons.
You made me remember my old EQ days of XP groups where the monk or ranger would pull mobs back to groups.

Right now the group aspect can be split into a few catagories
Normal Quests/huntlogs - if you group up for these they are your normal go kill X amount of Y(not all quests are x/y just using a easy example). You follow your map to the area where the quest mobs are.
Story Quests - This is solo play for the most part.
Leve Quests- You get these from levequest NPCs and you can group up with friends to complete these. They are based around the area you picked them up in. The ones I have done have been right outside the town i picked them up from. Same as Normal quests they are mobile.
Guildhests- you needa group of 4 to start these. They are like tutorials on how to group with players. They will send you places and tell you what to do.
Dungeons - You need 4 players to enter these instances and you are the only 4 in said instance
FATES- A random zone event that anyone can help with no partys needed.
If your looking for FFxi type lvling you will not find it much. If you really wanted to just farm things with people you can but it would be a exp drop.
