Anyone play around with that this weekend? I synced to a lower level fate once, but since I didn't play enough to do any group play, I was curious if you can manually sync your group to the lowest level person? Anyone know?

The level sync works by lowering your level to highest level in the recommended range for the fate. If the recommended levels for a fate are 6-10 and you are level 20, you can participate in the fate and receive exp and rewards if you click the level sync button. It will lower your level to lvl 10 since that is the highest level in the recommended range for participants. If you go in a party, I would assume every person in the party would have to click the sync button independently in order to receive rewards.

Level sync is automatic when you join fates lower level then the class you are on. From what I experienced, you don't gain anything from them when you are synced. My guess is it's a method to avoid high leveled people from dominating mobs, and also promote them leveling in the correct area. I know in guild wars it seemed kindof silly that you could level to cap in a level 1 area if you felt the urge to. But I digress, what I saw was from my own experiences. I'm not sure if that is universally the case or not.

Disregard!

It's not automatic to be honest there is a button bellow the mini map that you need to click to do level sync. I do not know though after you sync if you get any xp or not because i didn't bother with lower than my level FATES.

You do get EXP and gil. That's the purpose of the synch.

Oops! I thought I remembered it doing it automatically, maybe I didn't sync and that's why I didn't get exp. Wish the server was up so I could test it! Friday can't come fast enough.

I wish there was an auto-sync in the menu or something.

I was hoping level sync for grouping with friends outside of fates and instances. I'm planning on running Glad with my Conj so I can auto queue my friends, so it'd be nice to help them quest a bit.

Don't think you would want that! If you were engaged on a higher level mob and a revive popped up on you and all of a sudden synced you down,
