Overseas Data centre strategyFollow

Hi guys,

Has there been any mention from SE what their strategy concerning overseas datacentres are? I'd love to hear if SE are running these themselves, or if they plan on subcontracting out the running of them to "local" companies. Sometimes this works out great, sometimes not. For example, the running of Tera in Europe is subcontracted out to Gameforge, and items coming to the cash shop are significantly behind (if they appear at all) compared to the native US running Tera service. I don't know who's fault that is (and may not even be Gameforge's), but it does server as an example.

Of course I don't see F2P cash shop item sync being an issue etc, but it could prove interesting. If there is an issue, might foreign datacentre using customers have to muddle up through a web of "local" and SE customer support?

Any info?

Cheers!

Although I can't speak for the data centers themselves, I noticed that Square Enix Europe seems to be recruiting Game Masters (GM's) at London at the moment, so this indicates to me that they will handle in-game (and perhaps even phone) support themselves.

Now, as to who / where / etc will run the servers, we will need to see where they will be located (presumably from Phase 3 onward!)
