correct me if im wrong but wasnt it stated that there wouldnt be a character deletion after open beta? i.e if i got my character to max level and did all the quests in open beta.. when the game launches my character level and equipment/items along with my quest progress from the open beta will still be there/be complete when I start up my character at launch date?

The last side seems to insinuate that, but they also mention they can delete it at any time.

My understanding is if open beta goes smoothly then they wont wipe any data. But if some issues arise( exploits etc.) then they may need to roll back for launch.

They have stated that all character data from open beta will be transferred to the game after release. Also all legacy or character holders from 1.0 will be able to import their characters to open beta and continue with them after the release.

Wait, so if I'm getting this right you can import your 1.0 character into open beta and all progress will transfer to live. That's awesome.

I'm pretty sure you can't get to max lvl and finish every quest, mostly because i believe there will still be a lvl cap . But i'm happy about keeping my 1.0 character. That's 21 levels of marauder goodness to start from at launch. :)

Edit: Once i get on, it will feel like this has been one really long maintenance.

They'll stick beta characters on the legacy realms right? Letting them transfer to the fresh servers would be a pretty big mistake.

Yes
Noobs can go to legacy servers but legacy players can't go to a noob server

Do you only get to save your character if you were a legacy member? I stopped playing at the very beginning of 2012, is my character long gone?

Wow, just looked up my character. He ended up getting bumped to 24 when they adjusted job exp. That's a good starting point considering the time I've been in a/b.

When they say open beta for PS3, does this mean you will have the ability to buy the game early?

No, I assume we'll download a client from the PS Store.
