CE Preorder Code QuestionFollow

OK, someone tell me what's what.

I preordered two copies of the PS3, CE. When I got to the confirmation code I got two codes. Now, what I want to know is should I have got two or should I have got four?

I saw people that ordered one copy get two codes, so I would think I should have gotten four codes. Like one for Bonus content, one for early access, then two more. OR are my codes good for two uses?

Anyone? Or tell us what you bought and what codes you got... not the code itself though >.>

I ordered the standard PS3 and only received one code, but for some reason the code I got was for the PC pre-order items. They stated the PC and PS3 codes are supposed to be system specific. Also didn't get a tracking number.

Product Name: FINAL FANTASY® XIV: A Realm Reborn™ [PS3] (Pre-Ordered)

ETA the format of the code I received was.... 6 letters - 3 numbers - 6 letters - 3 numbers

I ordered CE via SE site and received a serial number under the title "FINAL FANTASY XIV: A REALM REBORN PRE-ORDER BONUS PACKAGE".

I was then given this LINK and submitted my email to obtain early access. I am assuming that once I am contacted by SE I will be given instructions on how to DL the client/content via the serial number I received.

Still not 100% how it will work though. Specifically, regarding PS3.

So if I got two codes... that means one for each, right?

For anyone who purchased the PS3 CE, did you receive a link to download some kind of software? I tried to email myself the link while I was at work to download the software once I got home. Now I get an error message each time I click on it.

I pre-ordered the PC CE and received only 1 code for my 3 items. I assume that 1 code handles the whole thing for me.

So ok, I probably have two codes, one for each item. Thanks. I just want to be able to give the bonus stuff to the person I gave the game to. Thanks.

If I understand it right, you put in your email and when the item is available to DL, they will email you a link to the download location. That's how I understood it.

I'm torn. I'm quite happy I get the new CE items without having to pay extra for them (1.0 CE holder), but I kinda wanted a shot at the pre-order goodies too, but I don't think it's worthwhile to pre-order a copy of the game just to get the cait sith pet.

Well, its the Preorder stuff AND All the added gear inside the box. Art book, cards, etc. I always wanted to play this on PS3, so its a no brainer for me. If I were on the PC only, I would be torn too. Now I have three unused security tokens though.. lol

I am going to go game stop in my area and pre order it that way. I rather deal with a real person.

Do we know what date these orders will ship? I want to preorder the CE, but I'm moving soon and don't want the items sent to the wrong address.

Well we know the release date (8-27), so if you figure about a week before that?

You can also preorder it at Amazon.com

Here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CYNTLDS/ref=cm_cd_asin_lnk

It needs to be updated though. I ordered one there and as long as all the perks are the same I may cancel my SE order because I'm prime.

I had this question as well. The Early Access instruction document contains this line:

Quote:
You will be notified via email prior to the launch of the game on when you can return and redeem your preorder code to unlock Early Access to the game

However, the order confirmation email contained "Serial Numbers". The purchase history page at the online store contains the same information with no mention of Preorder codes. The use of different nouns introduces ambiguity: Are Preorder codes and Serial Numbers the same? I needed clarification (because it is not a good idea to not know and just hope) so I got in touch with support through the contact form at store.na.square-enix.com.

Here was my question, exactly as submitted:

Quote:
The information provided after completing my purchase
includes two "Serial Number"s. However, the additional instructions
state that it will be necessary to enter a "Preorder Code"s. Are the two
serial numbers I received for my two collector editions the preorder
codes? If not, how might I obtain them? Thank you.

The answer I received today began like this:

Quote:

Thank you for contacting the Square Enix online store.

Your serial numbers are: ...

Please note that serial numbers, registration numbers, unlock codes and
passwords are usually case sensitive and if they are not entered
correctly, you will be unable to activate the program.

My query was either not read or understood as the reply is clearly inappropriate,
but the canned response does mention "serial numbers", "registration numbers" and
"unlock codes", an indication those are distinct things. But what of
"Preorder codes"?

Anyway, I've submitted another inquiry.

Does anyone here already know the answer to this question?

I decided to preorder CE for PS3 for the early play bonus. I ordered on Amazon, but a couple hours later realized I'm a dummy because I didn't get the CE. I canceled and reordered, and my new delivery date became 8/29 and I didn't get any instructions for early access. Think there's only a limited number of early access codes?

I can't answer for sure since I haven't ordered it ( still have the 1.0) but I doubt there are limited early access codes, or so I think.

At this point, I'm not even sure that it matters on account of ps3 not being delivered until 8/29. Unless I can use the early access code for my pc download (I have the 1.0 ce).

Yeah, I don't get how early access will work for PS3 if we don't have our disks delivered to us until the end of August. This has been bugging me a lot.

On the issue of early access in PS3, it might be possible that if you get into beta, you can get early access, since is the same client, you will have to download a final patch for the final product game, but if you pre order the game, maybe SE will allow you to download the client before early access starts, so that you can play on time.

That is what I am hoping. I pre-ordered from Gamestop and won't get the codes and such until it is shipped.

Probably what will happen is you will be sent a code to input in the account management on your PS3 for early access, then you will be given a few days to week or so to input your game disk key in order to continue to play, after you receive them in the mail. This is how most games handle early access.

^ That's what I figured. I guess we'll know once we receive those emails. I'm sure there will be detailed enough instructions once we receive the code.
