Unless you want to play on the PS3, of course. Then you'll have to buy a disc.

I know there have been a few things announced in game for collector's edition owners from 1.0, FFI armor and such, not to mention the original goodies you had.
I've been looking for an announcement that re-registering for our FFXIV 1.0 accounts would be activated, but haven't seen it yet. Any clue when that might happen?
Yoshi-P has confirm on the Nico Nico event that CE holder will get the digital items from the 2.0 CE but not the physical ones.

Have they said anything about which physical items they are giving out with the 2.0 CE? I think I read somewhere they were giving out the games soundtrack?

No, everything is speculation at this point. We'll have an announcement about the CE around the 20th of this month. I've only heard news about the soundtrack and the FFI armor. The soundtrack sounded more like a suggestion from Yoshi that we may see this. Here's hoping that they can actually put it in.

i have the the original collector's edition but i haven't played the game since it start 3 mon after it did , so .... can i recover that? it's silly i know but i am just asking

Yes you can. If you have registered and played, your character should be available for launch (for phase 3 as well, if you get into the beta).

I planned on buying a PS3 version anyway. Already got a decent bundle of goodies from the first CE anyway.

Yes, any character you had created for v1 no matter if you had a subscription or not, will be available in phase 3 testing. Now the part I don't know about is how will we be able to use that character? Reactivate our old FFXIV account on the SE management page or what? I'm guessing we will find out more when they are getting ready to open up phase there in June sometime.
