Is there an adventuring fellow system in XIV similar to XI? Just curious, it was kinda fun in XI.

There's no word what kind we'll have in ARR yet. In 1.0 your companion was an NPC but you could only play with him in closed instances and cutscenes, really.

This is going to be a "wait and see" thing.

I thought I read in an interview that you chocobo at one point is supposed to be like an adventure fellow in that he helps you fight.. also that at some point even certain minions (I think not sure though) end up being something like an adventure fellow.. cant remember which interview though.

The adventure NPC was taken out in ARR. We will have a personal chocobo that we can summon as a party member. It has different jobs like Dragoon, Black Mage, and White Mage and cute little armors to go with it.

You can see what it looks like on Live Letter IV or V. Forgot which.

I didn't play XI from the very beginning, was the adventuring fellow in the original, or did it come with an expansion? Just thinking maybe they might add it later on if people ask for it :)

Adventuring fellows are relatively recent additions, definitely weren't there to start.
