FF XIV Benchmark (Exploration) QuestionFollow
I downloaded the benchmark recently and tested it out but the only problem was that each cutscene would not show but it did play the sound in the background and showed loading screens. I got a high score with the test set on Maximum graphics but can someone help me figure out the problem with why the cutscenes aren't showing please?
Some things to check right away, do you have the most current version of your graphics drivers?
Download the DirectX Web Installer and run it, I had to on my wife's computer because some components weren't even installed.

I had recently downloaded DirectX 9.0c before testing so I just tried different graphic presets and it only shows up on the Medium preset.

What kind of graphics card?
AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series.

In CCC make sure you're letting the program run its own settings rather than customized settings you more than likely have. I had that issue and had to let the BM do it's own thing.
Also turn off SSAO, even though your PC likely can handle it, it seems to be a bit bugged.
I kept getting a funky error when I tried the benchmark. I'd try starting it and get "A resolution of 1024x768 is required", which was weird because my resolution is set at 1920x1080. I messed around with the resolution, updated drivers etc etc. Didn't run correctly until I ran it as admin.
On CCC I set the Standard 3D Settings to default which set the performance to Balanced .The cutscenes are now showing but should the CCC settings be set to Optimal Quality and what is SSAO?

In the benchmark it's the Screen Space Ambient Occulsion option under Effects. Also you can set it to Optimal Quality to see for yourself (since mileage varies between PCs.) The main thing though is letting the program handle the AA and stuff rather than CCC.
The CCC settings seem to only work on default and I turned off SSAO but this time I got a lower score then what I first had when I couldn't see the cut scenes. My performance is ranging from Fairly High Performance [2500-3499] to High Performance [3500-4999].My web browser and other stuff besides the test were closed. I've also been experimenting with resolution since I have a big monitor, I haven't found the right fit.

Yeah you got a high score because you weren't processing the cutscene, now that you are the score is more accurate. You'll be ok though. My brother's gf scored 1.2k on the benchmark on medium and I can guarantee the score just gives you a general idea of your PC/Notebook standing rather than if you can/can't play it.
3000-4000 sounds about right. I'm on a Radeon 7770 here. The bottleneck in my case is the processor, not the card. That's what I get for stuffing a late 2012 card into a late 2009 system.
