New equipment sets? :: Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV, FF14)

is anyone else surprised that in all the ARR promotional videos they're still showing characters in artifact armor?

I thought they would use this opportunity to display cool new sets.

the artifact armor just reminds me of the old version. have we seen any new armor design yet?

We have, in the live letter. They show the artifact armor to make it obvious to Final Fantasy fans, old and new, that "here are the jobs you know and love." The AF gear is a symbol.

The artifact armor screams "Final Fantasy" which is, quite frankly, what they need to be doing a TON of right now.

Truth. Plus, this is a Benchmark. It's not really meant to be new content for everyone. It makes sense they would use Final Fantasy icon's during it. Additional armor sets are more likely to be in other videos, such as the Tour of Eorzea videos.

They have held up concept art for new armor sets in live letters from the producer IV and V. It seems they are adding armor sets based on various animals? I saw some from LLFP V showing a "golden leo" and some other white armor set that looked based off a panther or some sort of cat. In the LLFP IV video, you'll see some of the armor sets you'll get for completing the great labrynth of bahamut.
