Yeah I checked that. But I think that is a flaw in the WoWreader -- Glowcap doesn't drop off mobs and those mobs aren't in Nagrand, anyway. It may mark them as being in Nagrand because a player engaged the mob while standing just inside Nagrand's border.

Although, I suppose with those tiny droprates, it's possible for Glowcap to drop off those mobs, and I just haven't seen it.

It could be a result of a kite & fight situation, but I wasn't there...

Nice thread.

One note though..I forget the name of the mob but in North East Zangramarsh there is a mob that you can kill for Sporegor rep. After they die, herbalists can "skin" them and get herbs. I know that I got some terocone off of them along with other herbs and various greys.

Very nice thread.

A few comments:
- I thought the effect of Bloodthistle was "blood elf only"? (confirmed here: http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=22710&locale=enUS;source=live)
- there are quite a lot of Arthas' Tears nodes in RFD
- some items seem suspect. For example I have never seen Dreamfoil, Golden Sansam, Icecap or Mountain Silversage in Alterac Mountains
- it could be nice so say which areas are particularly nice for certains herbs. For example you can't take 3 steps in Swamps of Sorrows without stumbling on Blindweed. Arathi is one of the best places for Fadeleaf, Hinterlands for Sungrass, etc.

Not confirmed. I'll go with what it says in the item description itself until I get several confirmations that it works on Blood Elves only. Let's get a magic user over there that belongs to a different race to confirm.

I know there are. For the most part, I left instances out of the guide. They probably wouldn't be in at all, if it wasn't for Ancient Lichen (which in general can only be found in instances, except as drops).

You are absolutely correct. I'll correct the listing for Altarac. Thanks for the find.

Different people find different things. A lot depends on who's farming and how often the plants are plucked. On my last trip to Winterspring, there was a lot of Icecap, something I'd never seen before. Usually a trip there only gets me 3 or 4, not 15. It might be possible that the Icecap farmers decided to go farm plants in The Outlands, or that I hit a spawn at the right time. I can only tell people where they are. How many is so variable that it can't really be predicted.

Again, thanks for this guide, it's a really amazing resource, especially the lists of quests or recipes.

- on the topic of Bloodthistle, I am about 90% sure that they don't work on other races because I've been to Silvermoon with my druid, picked some, and realised they were "worthless". But I can try again.
- Wildvine can also be found in Purple Lotus nodes, so it should probably be listed everywhere PL is listed. Likewise Swiftthistle can also be found with Mageroyal.
- for the list of areas, I don't want to be a killjoy but... http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/professions/herbalism.html
- re: my last comment, it was more motivated by the fact that e.g. Purple Lotus is listed in say, Ashenvale, Hinterlands and STV. However to my knowledge there is only one node of PL in Ashenvale, maybe 5-6 in STV, and too many to count in Hinterlands. Another aspect is that many areas have Grave Moss, but if I want to find it quickly and in reasonable amounts, I go to Desolace. That kind of stuff.

If you prefer to use The official list, you may. I'm not stopping you. My list is based on finds that have been reported using WoWreader.

STV is my favorite grind zone for purple lotus. It's found outside most of the troll compounds, and spawns fairly quickly, not just 5 or 6 locations. I've only found 2 purple lotuses in Ashenvale, both at different spots (on the road btw Maestra's Post and Blackfathom Deep, and the other in Satyrnaar), but after looking at the map, I counted 9 locations where it's been found there. I suspect that the find rate would probably be higher than shown on the map, but most herbalists are too low in level when they go to Ashenvale and by the time they are high enough to pick it, have already abandoned the area. I've only found a few in the Hinterlands.

I tend to agree with you on Gravemoss. It's pretty well concentrated in the Kodo Graveyard and is easy to find. But, it's not the only place it can be found.

i have found that there are plants that do not show up on mini map they do not even show up when you curser over them. but if you use the new button you get when you learn master herb it allows you to gather them. i get a message i have harvested (dragonspine, etc) and i get the loot window but nothing comes up. has anyone discovered how to do this right does it require a new item or what i have gone through the rigamarole with the gm's and nothing.

Your post finally made me do it. I submitted the guide to Darqflame. Look for it in the "Guides" section in a couple of weeks.

Definitely not.
They can be gathered for rep with Sporeggar until friendly. After that they are just money..... I got cloak and wand with honored/revered rep for 45 glowcaps, cheapest things I ever bought in WoW :)
