Sucks that it happened but not much else you can probably do besides file a complaint or something. I mean he obviously didn't comprehend that you traded an item for the gil given to you. If he understood than he should have just taken the gil from you, given your item back that he should have taken from the guy, and given the money back to the original owner and all would be squared away. Losing 1.9m because someone else stole it is rather...screwed up to say the least.

I have faith in GMs still, these pics only show one part of this.
Maybe the GM has evidence that the guy knew the stuff was obtained illegaly? Maybe the GM decided it wasn't worth punishing him for recieving stolen mechandise? I think the GMs are well aware of people taking pics of thier conversations and they wouldn't be stupid and just 'steal' a players gil. I bet theres more to this story.

If i were that guy, i'd request the item that he sold to get the "tainted" gil back. If they can track gil through people, they can surely track the item back.
