Auto-Translate for European LanguagesFollow

I got into a conversation with a spaniard friend of mine the other day regarding the auto-translate function. He imported an American English version of the game when it was available for PS2 in the States. He asked me if I knew whether or not the auto-translate function translates into the native languages for the people of Europe. I didn't know. I would hope that it does. o.o'

He was considering buying a new copy of FFXI for this purpose alone (ladies, this guy is loaded), as sometimes it's difficult for him to understand the broken english the translator forces us to use (it's sometimes hard for me to understand what JP players are trying to say in their auto-translated bits).

So, if someone w/ a European copy of the game could respond, it'd be very helpful. Do your {Please use the Auto-Translate function.} stuff show up in Spanish, German, Italian, Sweedish, uhmm... Polish? (>>; or is that German too...) ^^ whatever. If this is the case, is there a way he could switch between which language the translator is set to? Sometimes he prefers English for practice, other times he would just prefer to have Spanish.
