OK, it's just a rant, but whatever.

/rant on

I am LITERALLY sick of the time i spend looking for parties on this damn server. First i spent lfp as a lvl 22 paladin for about an hour. Nothing happens, so i switch jobs, make sure my search comment is updated and start lfp as a lvl 24 warrior. Another hour passes, AND NOTHING...i was like, "wtf? Better try a mage job!" So, i try lfp as a lvl 19 blm in the dunes...and nothing...THE DUNES!!!! WHERE IS EVERYONE??? So I switch to my lvl 31 rdm, and of course NOTHING after an hour. So, i pulled out the big guns and switched to white mage....BUT NOTHING!!!!! EEERRRGGGHHH!!!! I wasted an entire day lfp in Jeuno, and it really pisses me off.

Now i know people will say, "You don't have to lfp as a bst!" but whatever, it just sickens me that no one wants, or needs, to party in the lvl 20-30ish range... /sigh... Besides the agruements of "What time did you play? NA High time, low time???" It really doesn't matter when i play since i put the ever useful {Please use the auto-translate function} in my search comment...but whatever, once again, this game has sicken me to the point where i might quit since i have nothing to do as far as lvling jobs >.<

/rant off

... /em sighes with disbelief at Ragranok

edit: some corrections >.<

Build your own party.
Make a static party with friends in your ls.
Go farm while lfp'ing :)

It might be your search comment, some people lvl50+ are still too lazy to write a good one... or one at all.

Don't worry about telling me my alternatives to lvling, ie farming crafting, make a static, etc... I already know about these. ^^ It's just that when i actually decide that i should lvl rather than H.E.L.M., that's when it seems there is an absence of people to party with, or that WANT to party...

And as far as statics go, i never know when I'll be able to play next, so i'd rather NOT make a commitment to something i won't be able to do...

And my search comment, I always include, + to important Stats (VIT for PLD, INT/MND for rdm, etc); my TNL; my language preference, and places i have access to for parties (Gate crystals, airships, etc.)

Don't worry about it, I just wanted to vent some rage, i was just hoping people would read, that's all...

I also recomend trying to build your own PT, it may seem like a crappy task cuz someone in the PT may not like the set up but at least give it a shot. Dont give up.

I'm not positive but I think the problem is that most people who are playing are mostly high lvl now and probably have most of their subs lvled also so they don't play many low lvl jobs anymore. I also think that our server has lost a lot of players... last time i checked there were about 2000-3000 people online compared to the 4k+ from a year ago.

To the matter at hand, if you can't seem to find a party, it might be because there aren't any people around your lvl during the time you play. I was in Garlaige the other day, and there wasn't a single party in the 30s so it might be a lack of players. What i usually try to do is /sea all <lvl range> to see what other people my lvl are doing. If i don't see many people in a party or all JP, i usually just go do something else and come back at a later time.

T_T I know what you mean. Currently, I'm stuck as a level 41 WHM because there seems to be a lack of available players in my range... Last night I just gave up waiting and leveled my 30 BRD. XD;;

But, don't give up! I know it sucks to wait (I hate waiting as well) but you'll eventually get a party, ne?
#8 May 07 2005 at 6:31 PM Rating: Decent
Yeah, just make a party of whatever is available ^^ I was in Qufim this morning lvling war and I made a party of 3 wars, 2 thfs, and a rdm, lol. Working surprisingly well, actually. Actually hit lvl 26 in Qufim, don't see that everyday.

Ok, last night I was in a 4 and a half hour-long JP party in kuftal. I went from 2.1k to lvl55 to what WOULD be lvl56, if I had G2 done. So, although JPs almost always prefer for no more than one or maybe two members to be NAs, that one or two people may be you. So here is what they look for:

@# -> Lv.? (Sometimes I type "@# gurai de Lv.? ni narimasu!" but I ususally don't. Last night I got my JP party with the first one.)

Access to areas. For example, SkyO or MoonGateO. To make it look cool, go to controlers in the auto-trasnlator and delete everything but the circle in the circle controler, you can aslo use the X.

Lack of important spells. This only goes out to REALLY good spells, like ancient magic, erase and dispel.

Don't put stats. You can never tell if someone in including food, flat-out lying, etc.

Don't put equipment. Even though I have LB and EH, I dont include that because JPs judge players on thier abilities, not gear. (Actually, I didint have the boots last night, my brother had 'em. lol) So yeah, that just goes to show that they dont care about maximum uber-gear.

Remember, this is only what most JPs look for, some NAs will invite someone that doesnt fit into the party at all, just because they see nice gear in thier comment. But whatever, hope you get some better luck with the parties. If there seem to be a good deal of JPs in your range, try giving these tips a shot.

Well, I am no longer fed up lfp, I got a great party last night and was able to FINALLY use my scroll of Dispel! (Took my a month to get 70K gil. I can only play for a few hours a week >.<) Woohoo! But yeah, for my search comment, i have key items in it, like {Altepa Gate Crystal}, {Airship pass}, etc. But yeah, I am no longer fed up, just a little pissed since once i dinged 32 and used my scroll, the exp mobs nevered buff up so i could try out my spell. Actually one mob did (Borer Beetle in GC did Rhino Guard), but he died after i hit him, so i couldn't dispel the *******...lol, well thanks for reading my rant, and maybe you guys should posst your stories about LFP or parties that were uber lame and what not ^^

there is a big problem with our server. there are some serious gaps of players in different ranges. I know most people make comments "well lvl a craft". But this is a game and the point of the game is to be able to go in and do what you want to do, not make the game force you to do something else.

One night I was lfp with my lvl 45 blm, and their was a 45 brd looking. 4 hours went by and neither of us got an invite. We were also the only ones looking for 3 hours. This was during NA prime time. Not that I am complaining but this shows theres problems. Not only could we not get a pt, we couldnt even find enough players to make one. I did a /sea all 44-47 and there were 28 players in the world. Not counting anon.

that is a problem. Its not the players fault its SE's design.. I always knew this was going to be the biggest problem in the game, and at some point this was going to happen and cause alot of people to quit.

SE screwed up big and it will cause them to lose multi of millions of dollars in sub fees, but hey, they are not the smartess group of devolopers anyways.

This problem is also shown by the amount of bsts beign lvled. the number has skyrocketed due to people sick of lfp for days.

I feel sorry for melee, man if a blm and brd cant get a pt for 4 hours I can imagine what its like for a melee.

I found sometimes smaller parties in alternate areas work well. The experience isn't as fast, but it's something to do while trying to fill up so you can move to where the experience is better. If you can only get 2 or 3 people, head out to a place with T and VT and kill there until you can get more to join.

hmmm, i noticed that the population of Ragnarok seems to have dropped a lot....so, lemme say {Thank you} SE FOR DRIVING THIS GAME TO THE GROUND!!! i notice less and less new people signing up and more and more people quitting...I comend SE for the "Adventure recruitment" thingy, but still, I just wish there will be more people soon, I want this game to last like how EQ I has lasted for the past 5-6 years...

I still think it's just the time of the year. I remember last year around this time it being just as bad until everyone was out of school and stuff. It's finals time and time for a lot of people to travel. I know of quite a few people who are playing less and less not because they want to, but because their real life has got them so busy. Hang in there, it will come back around.

Yeah, i hope that's it... I bought the game when it first came out for PS2, but i couldn't play it until the coming June (some internal error in my PS2 wouldn't "authenticate" my DNAS thingy, some high-tech mumbo-jumbo so i had to send my PS2 into Sony of America to get it fixed), so I was there when the population was low...but drastically increasing...so I hope the same goes with this time period...

hmm.. i see some of your points with your comments and um.. rants? but there are also somethings u fail to notice why somethings happen.

i myself have went thru alot of LFPing and got sick of it here and there (explains why i have a 51 bst) but let me just give my view on it.

most of the time (after 45) i simply made my pts. got to 61 drg after sometime and tons of hardwork.
if i couldnt level, id go farm.. really :o id rather be rich stuck at 1 level than nothing.
ff isnt really the only mmorpg out there.. alot of players probably moved to wow dont u think? my brother switched to wow already so yeh..
its pointless to shout SE sucks or anything like it. SE doesnt force us to play, players make their decisions when or what to play.
oh yeh and il agree with the time of the year thing. some ls members had to take a break coz finals was coming up. RL over play u know.
patience is a virtue. this is probably my most important point and ive always followed it when i play ff. sometimes u just cant get what you want at a certain time, so try something else.

sometimes u win sometimes u lose. just hang in there if u really like ff. im sure the tides will turn for the better but be patient.

lol, don't worry, it started as a rant, only because it was 3 am at the time and i had nothing to do, (damn insomnia) but yeah...parties have started to come more frequently since a lot of my friends are sick of WoW and are coming back to FFXI... the only nice think about WoW is when the last time they had to do maintainence that took a long time, the players got two weeks free, why can't SE do it? budget reasons?

edit: I typed few, when i meant to type FREE.. damn lack of caffeine

Just a note on another alternative, check out some of the enms. Usually they are risk free and can be done with less people then a full party and the experience isn't always half bad from them. Not to mention it's easier to build a party when there is a level cap since your range that you can pick from suddenly increases. And there is always the chance at a nice prize. I been doing pulling strings about once a week.

I'm a BLM, mid-levels with a capped WHM sub ... still I do not get invites for some time, do you what do I do?

Start my own parties =3, yeah it is muh more fun and won't probably take that long; just lay your hands on a tank then tadaaa mages and other jobs are quite easy to find.

Oh yeah that is annoying when you only need one more to fill the party. I've found in most situations you can start either with weaker monsters or whatever until you can get the 6th. If you are already at the location and looking for a replacement, going a man down while slower beats no exp at all. If you can do it safely.

Last night was another one of those nights when I just got on at a bad time to get an invite or start one of my own. After 90 min of searching I gave up because of the time. I knew I wouldn't be able to stick around long enough to make it worthwhile for anyone inviting me. So I just went and did a mission I had hanging over my head. I ended up getting quite a bit accomplished because I wasn't hung up on looking for party. I finished a few quests, got rid of some coffer keys and got some maps and finished mission 9-1.

Well last night after 2 hours lfp as drg i look at people lfp and bam, a blm, whm, pld, drg, me, brd. And that was all that was looking. It was a stroke of luck.

So i put them all together went to Cn where we got to my calculation 5.5k in an hour. since i was at 6k tnl and ended at 700 tnl.

Then pld had to log all of a sudden because of parents. (That sucked)

On side not both drgs turned hate on them all the time and I hit double thrust for 295 dmg and wyvern breath for 95 dmg for just under 400 dmg. Not bad for lvl 34, not many jobs can pull that type of dmg at that lvl off ws.

But anyways muffin was very happy to be out of her pokeball for first time in a month.
